    Abstract: The present invention is a lightweight carpet for use in aircrafts that meets rigorous fire standards testing, is impervious to fluids, and is capable of being printed for decorative effect. In one embodiment, the carpet composed of a layer of fire retardant treated PET fibers adhered to a fire retardant treated PE film. This carpet is durable to normal foot traffic, resistant to most stains, non-fraying, and can be recycled.
