  • Publication number: 20110029984
Abstract: A method and system for scheduling tasks using a counter constraint. A method may include identifying multiple tasks to be performed, receiving dependency data indicating that scheduling of at least one task is dependent on whether a counter satisfies a threshold in relation to an additional condition, and upon determining, during scheduling, that the counter satisfies the threshold in relation to the additional condition, triggering a scheduling action with respect to at least one task.

  • Publication number: 20060167852
Abstract: System and method for improving online search engine results. In one embodiment, a search system queries one or more servers of a destination site to obtain detailed and relevant information. In one embodiment, this query is in the form of an application programming interface call. Based on the content received in response to the aforementioned queries, a plurality of content pages may then be used to build one or more search databases against which user searches may be made during some future time period.

  • Publication number: 20060161534
Abstract: A system is disclosed for generating a search result list in response to a search request from a searcher using a computer network. A first database is maintained that includes a first plurality of search listings. A second database is maintained that includes documents having general web content. A search request is received from the searcher. A first set of search listings is identified from the first database having documents generating a match with the search request and a second set of search listings is identified from the second database having documents generating a match with the search request. A confidence score is determined for each listing from the first set of search listings wherein the confidence score is determined in accordance with a relevance of each listing when compared to the listings of the second set of search listings. The identified search listings from the first set of search listing are ordered in accordance, at least in part, with the confidence score for each search listing.

  • Publication number: 20030069618
Abstract: The present invention concerns a method and a kit, for the treatment of a selected area of the skin and/or subcutaneous tissue, and in particular for the cosmetic treatment of skin conditions such as regional fat deposits including cellulite. The method comprises heating the selected area to a sustained skin temperature of about 32 to about 50° C. for a desired period of time, using a device comprising either a heat source capable of conductively heating the selected area or, alternatively, an infra-red source for emitting infra-red with a wavelength from about 700 nm to about 15000 nm.

  • Patent number: 5073690
Abstract: A multidirectional electrical discharge machine wire guide that is long-lasting and easily manufactured and, wherein the guide member thereof is not subject to dislodging. The guide member is made of a wear-resistant material, such as diamond or the like, and includes a wire hole for receiving a wire electrode therethrough and guiding the wire. A non-conductive member is provided and prevents electrical current flow between the wire electrode and the guide assembly at an area substantially near the guide member. The non-conductive member can surround and support the guide member on a wire guide body or, in the alternative, may be separate from the support member.

  • Patent number: 4762711
Abstract: A live vaccine for bovine babesiosis comprises viable bovine erythrocytes parasitized with a cloned population of Babesia bovis, the clone strain being fast-growing, avirulent, and producing a mild but immunizing infection when administered. The vaccine is free of slow-growing virulent B. bovis. The clone strain used in the vaccine is prepared from a natural mixture of virulent and avirulent babesia by progressive dilution culturing to obtain cultures containing single parasites, propagating the single parasites under favorable conditions for growth, and selecting a fast-growing avirulent clone line for either in vitro or in vivo propagation to prepare the vaccines.

  • Patent number: 4442734
Abstract: A method of mounting a hard, wear-resistant insert for use as a core tube, wire drawing die, and the like in which a cylindrical metal casing is provided with opposite front and back sides, the casing having a cylindrical cavity formed in the front side with a flat bottom spaced from the back side. A cylindrical plug is provided having top and bottom ends, the plug being proportioned to have a close fit in the casing cavity. The casing-plug assembly has a reference position with the casing cavity bottom facing upwardly and the plug bottom end facing downwardly. Prior to insertion of the plug in the cavity, either the plug or the casing is inverted from its reference position. A hard insert element is centered with respect to either the inverted end of the plug bottom or the casing cavity bottom and is adhered thereto. Either the plug or the casing is again inverted to the reference position, and the plug is inserted in the casing cavity with the bottom end and insert element facing the cavity bottom.

  • Patent number: 4365502
Abstract: A wire drawing die and method for making the same in which a blank having a cylindrical core of a hard, wear-resistant material located randomly in the blank is initially attached to a circular metal plate having a concentric central opening, thus forming an assembly with the core being concentric to both the plate and the opening. A metal casing is provided having a cylindrical cavity proportioned to accommodate the plate with a close fit. A first brazing disc is placed on the cavity bottom. The assembly is inserted in the case cavity over the first brazing disc with the blank facing either toward the top or bottom of the cavity. Powder metal may be placed between the blank and the cavity. A second brazing disc is then placed over the assembly and the powder metal. A metal plug is provided with its outside diameter proportioned for a close fit with the case cavity and may have an interior cavity proportioned to accommodate the blank.
