  • Publication number: 20210369207
Abstract: There is provided an apparatus (12) for use with a wearable cuff (14). The wearable cuff (14) is for use in measuring blood pressure. The apparatus (12) is configured to acquire a plurality of pressure signals. Each of the plurality of pressure signals are indicative of a pressure in the wearable cuff (14) during a period for measuring blood pressure. The apparatus (12) is configured to, for each of the plurality of acquired pressure signals, determine a measure of a quality of the acquired pressure signal based on one or more parameters derived from artifacts identified in the acquired pressure signal. The apparatus (12) is also configured to determine a measure of a quality of the wearable cuff (14) based on the determined measures of the quality of the acquired pressure signals.

  • Patent number: 4073608
Abstract: Vane type rotary pumping device comprising a stationary housing member having a cavity extending therethrough, a rotor disposed in the cavity for rotation therein and having a plurality of radial openings therein, and vane members extending in each of the openings for sliding movement therein and rotary movement along with the rotor. An inlet passage and an outlet passage formed on spaced apart portions of the housing member communicate with the cavity. The cavity includes a circumferential channel extending from the inlet passage to the outlet passage to serve as a fluid pumping chamber. The vane members extend radially outwardly of the rotor and in pressure sealing relationship with the channel while being rotated through the channel by the rotor to pump fluid from the inlet passage to the outlet passage. The cavity also includes a circumferential wall portion between the outlet passage and the inlet passage over which the rotor passes with the vane members retracted within the rotor.

An inlet passage and an outlet passage formed on spaced apart portions of the housing member communicate with the cavity. The cavity includes a first cylindrical channel extending from the inlet passage to the outlet passage to serve as a fluid pumping chamber. The vane members extend radially outwardly of the rotor and in substantial pressure sealing relationship with the channel but maintaining a slight clearance therebetween while being rotated through the channel by the rotor to pump fluid from the inlet passage to the outlet passage.
