  • Patent number: 7585138
Abstract: A guard for a power-feed drill having a fluid inducer protects an operator from coming in contact with a rotating drive assembly. The drive assembly is enclosed by a cylindrical housing having a slotted opening through which a fluid inducer connection extends. The guard comprises a rotatable tube concentrically disposed within the housing and sleeved over the drive assembly so as to cover the opening presented by the slot. The fluid inducer connection passes through a helical groove in the tube.

  • Patent number: 7375442
Abstract: A universal interface circuit and an associated method are provided that can supply a computer logic circuit, such as the components mounted upon an adapter card, with first and second inputs having first and second predetermined voltage levels, respectively, based upon power drawn from both first and second supply voltages. The interface circuit typically includes a first power supply circuit for providing the first input having the first predetermined voltage level in response to the first supply voltage. Additionally, the interface surface includes a regulator for generating an output having the second predetermined voltage level in response to the first supply voltage. The interface circuit further includes a second power supply circuit for providing an output that also has the second predetermined voltage level, albeit in response to the second supply voltage.

  • Publication number: 20080092746
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system for producing beverages or other food products which includes, generally and broadly, controllably dispensing water from the system for use in brewing. Water is introduced to a heated water reservoir heating and subsequent use in a process such as brewing. A thermal expansion system is provided to accommodate water which expands from the reservoir as a result of the heating process. One form of thermal expansion system may include a venturi device which allows the accumulation of water which expands during the heating process and then returns the water to the flow of water during a brew cycle.

  • Publication number: 20070186780
Abstract: A system as disclosed herein uses a cold or unheated water source such as a reservoir or a pressurized inlet feed line, and a heated water reservoir. The unheated water reservoir is pressurized with a pressurizing apparatus communicating with the unheated water reservoir. Such a pressurizing apparatus may include an air pump, bladder or piston arrangement as well as other pressurizing apparatus. The pressurizing apparatus is controllable to push water from the unheated water reservoir to the heated water reservoir. As a result of the pressurization and displacement of the unheated water, heated water is then displaced and forced from the heated water reservoir. Heated water from the heated water reservoir is dispensed to the spray head and over the beverage brewing substance such as coffee for brewing.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system for producing beverages or other food products which includes, generally and broadly, controllably dispensing water from the system for use in brewing. Water is introduced to a heated water reservoir heating and subsequent use in a process such as brewing. An active thermal expansion system is provided to accommodate water which expands from the reservoir as a result of the heating process. One form of thermal expansion system may include a controllable expansion device accommodates an accumulation of water which expands during the heating process and then returns the water to the flow of water during a brew cycle or drains the water from the system.

  • Patent number: 6961786
Abstract: A mechanism is provided for detecting new devices added to a Fiber Channel adapter. When a device is added to a connector, the mechanism generates a device detect signal for that port. The Fiber controller receives device detect signals for the existing ports and generates port select signals to configure the port bypass. The controller may then simply poll the device detect signals in an internal register to automatically detect a new device being added or a device being removed without breaking the loop and without a high software overhead.

  • Patent number: 6857548
Abstract: An explosively operated tool (1) for driving a fastener into a substrate such as steel or concrete has a resetting mechanism (12) for resetting a piston (10) of the tool into a rear part of a barrel assembly (8) of the tool after each firing of the tool. The barrel assembly (8) is mounted for axial movement within the tool housing (2) and co-operates with a mass mounted for rearwards movement relative to the housing (2) in opposition to a biasing force to absorb recoil on firing of the tool. The resetting mechanism (12) for resetting the piston (10) into a rear part (2a) of the barrel assembly after firing is powered in response to displacement of the mass on recall.
