  • Publication number: 20240066621
Abstract: A welding or metal additive manufacturing torch includes a nozzle and a shielding gas diffuser located within the nozzle. The shielding gas diffuser has a plurality of shielding gas discharge holes spaced annularly around the shielding gas diffuser. A contact tip extends from the shielding gas diffuser distal of the shielding gas discharge holes. An annular screen extends radially between the nozzle and one or both of the contact tip and the shielding gas diffuser and is located distal of the shielding gas discharge holes. The annular screen is electrically insulated from at least one of the shielding gas diffuser and the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 11110559
Abstract: A clamp support system including a support rack having a pair of first sides and a pair of second sides that interlockingly engage each other. Slots are defined in each of the first sides and slots in the opposed and parallel first sides are aligned. One or more clamps are supported by the support rack. A bar of each clamp is received in a pair of aligned slots in the first sides. Each clamp includes a first jaw and a second jaw operatively engaged with the bar. A workpiece is positioned so that the first jaw of each clamp contacts a first side of the workpiece and the second jaw of each clamp contacts a second side. The first and second jaws are moved relative to each other to clamp the workpiece therebetween.

  • Publication number: 20210101221
Abstract: A welding or additive manufacturing power supply includes a user interface that receives a user input shielding gas mixture comprising separately adjustable amounts of a first and a second shielding gas. Output circuitry generates a shielding gas customized welding waveform. A memory stores a first plurality of waveform parameters that are associated with the first shielding gas, and a second plurality of waveform parameters that are associated with the second shielding gas. A controller is operatively connected to control operations of the output circuitry, and is configured to determine a third plurality of waveform parameters at least partially defining the shielding gas customized welding waveform. The controller determines the third plurality of waveform parameters from the first and second plurality of waveform parameters and the amounts of the first and second shielding gas.

  • Patent number: 10880679
Abstract: A system includes a processor configured to receive vehicle speed and heading. The processor is also configured to determine a local data set having coordinates reachable by a vehicle traveling at a projected speed based on the received speed and heading within a predetermined amount of time. The processor is further configured to define a geo-fence at a distance from a local data set perimeter such that a vehicle reaching the geo-fence at the received speed will have time to download new local data before reaching the local data set perimeter and send the geo-fence definition and coordinate data within the local data set to the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20200269338
Abstract: Embodiments of systems, methods, and apparatus for interacting with a computer during a welding operation are provided. In one embodiment, a welding tool is provided. The welding tool includes a handle, a neck, and an air mouse device having a selection interface. The welding tool is configured to be operatively connected to a welding machine and used by an operator to perform a welding operation on a workpiece. Also, the air mouse device is configured to wirelessly communicate with a computer operatively connected to the welding machine. The air mouse device allows the operator to position a computer cursor over an option icon, as displayed on a display monitor by the computer, by moving the welding tool in the air. Furthermore, the air mouse device allows the operator to select the option icon by engaging the selection interface of the air mouse device.
