The photographic material, after imagewise exposure, is heated or processed in a physical developer to develop the image.

Abstract: Certain radiation sensitive quinone compounds and nitrobenzylidene dyes in photothermographic elements, compositions and processes on exposure to activating radiation, release a species which catalyzes the reduction of silver salt oxidizing agents in the presence of non-light sensitive reducing agents upon heating. The elements, after imagewise exposure, are heated to develop the image.

Abstract: A photothermographic element comprises a combination of certain energy sensitive organic dyes capable of forming or destroying an active spcies upon selective exposure to actinic radiation to give a positive or negative image after heat development of the element. The element also comprises an oxidation-reduction image-forming composition comprising a silver salt oxidizing agent and a non-radiation sensitive organic reducing agent.

Abstract: Analytical element for the detection of an agent under analysis, termed analyte, dissolved in an aqueous, proteinaceous liquid. The element has at least two superposed layers, the layers including a spreading layer and a reagent layer. The element can include a support material which is preferably radiation transmissive. To normalize transport of the analyte in and through the spreading layer, the spreading layer contains an effective amount of a surfactant, such as a non-ionic surfactant. Preferably, the amount of surfactant is between about 1% and about 15% by weight of solid contents in the spreading layer.
