  • Publication number: 20220312817
Abstract: The present disclosure provides composition and methods to improve the nutritional status of a subject, as well as aid in the maturation of the gut microbiota of a subject. The disclosure encompasses edible compositions that, when eaten in a manner described herein, impacts the subject's gut microbiota by changing the relative abundances of a plurality of health-discriminatory gut taxa in a statistically significant manner towards chronologically age-matched healthy subjects.

  • Publication number: 20070071738
Abstract: A ruminant direct fed microbial composition of matter comprising an acidosis inhibiting effective amount of Propionibacterium P-63 is provided. Also disclosed is a process for reducing acidosis in ruminants or scours in swine by administration of the bacterium to the ruminant or swine. The microbial composition may be administered by itself, or combined with animal feed and/or lactic acid producing cultures.

  • Patent number: 6554238
Abstract: A mounting arrangement for a planar visual display unit includes a support base, which can be fixed to a support surface, spacer tubes for elevating a pivotable base above the support surface and an arm fixed to the base through a hinge pin and an air spring. The arm supports a shaped channel plate for holding the visual display unit when the visual display unit is attached to a complementary mounting bracket. The pivot base can rotate 360° with respect to the support base and the arm can move in a vertical plane limited by the action of an air spring. The shaped channel plate is attached to the arm by a pin pivot and a ball and socket joint. The arm and the visual display unit maintain a steady position by way of the dampening of the air spring and the frictional loading applied to each of the joint components, namely the hinge pin, and the pin pivot and ball and socket joint attaching the plate to the arm.

  • Patent number: 6106064
Abstract: A chair (1) including a seat (2) coupled to a mounting shaft (3) having an axis of rotation (7), a base (4) and a shaft coupling which allows the shaft (3) to swivel relative to the base (4) about the axis of rotation (7) and allows the shaft (3) to tilt relative to a vertical orientation of the chair (1) to various degrees in the seat (4) direction and sideward directions and prevents the shaft (3) tilting to any substantial extent in the seats (2) rearward direction. The shaft coupling includes a spring bearing allowing the rotation and tilting and includes a cam fitted on the shaft (3) which limits the degree of tilting in accordance with the shape of the cam.
