  • Patent number: 6249166
Abstract: A pipelined programmable digital pulse delay system (10) that is capable of processing multiple input pulses simultaneously, each with a unique programmed delay value, includes a plurality of pulse delay units (12, 14, 16), a plurality of buffer registers (18, 20, 22, 24), and a commutator unit 26. The buffer registers (18, 20, 22, 24) each store a delay control word corresponding to a single pulse currently being processed in the system (10). The plurality of pulse delay units (12, 14, 16) each reference a corresponding buffer register (18, 20, 22, 24) for an appropriate delay control value when a particular pulse is about to be received by the pulse delay unit. After the pulse has passed an operative point in the pulse delay unit, the unit then retrieves a delay control value from another buffer register (18, 20, 22, 24) for use with a next input pulse. Thus, pipelined operation is achieved in the system (10).

  • Patent number: 6234595
Abstract: A media storage system and method for use in a cabinet in which a rail member is mounted to at least one of the walls of the cabinet. A side panel is pivotally connected to the rail member for pivotal movement relative thereto, and one or more additional panels are connected to the side panel one to form a storage area. The side panel can be pivoted relative to the rail member between a first position in which the storage area is closed and a second position in which the storage area is open.

  • Patent number: 6059341
Abstract: A quarter side storage compartment accessible from outside the vehicle includes a simplified operating arrangement. The vehicle's endgate is used as an impediment to operation of the compartment latch's release handle. The release handle is positioned so that actuation thereof is not possible without opening the endgate. Preferably, but not necessarily, the endgate is lockable in the closed position, meaning that advantageously, the release handle does not require an individual lock.

  • Patent number: 5951578
Abstract: A tongue cleaning system for cleaning the back of a user's tongue. The system including a tongue holding device and a tongue brush. The tongue holding device is a u-shaped element with textured forwardly disposed inward surfaces. The brush includes a thin head portion with a plurality of bristles of minimal height. The present invention is also described in terms of a method of cleaning one's tongue. The method involves holding one's tongue by way of holding tool, and then brushing the back of the tongue by way of the tongue brush.

  • Patent number: 5930828
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for defragmenting a disk drive in a computer system. The defragmentation process, in accordance with the present invention, determines which files have a high degree of fragmentation, where such file extents are to be physically moved on the disk and further determines which portions of such files are to be moved to the selected physical location. More particularly, the defragmentation process selects each file on the disk, checks to see if the file is excluded from processing and, if not, recovers the extent list for the file. If the file is fragmented, the process determines if there is sufficient free space in which to move the file extents to contiguous location on the disk. If such as space exists, the file extents are moved. If the free space is sufficiently fragmented or the disk is substantially full, contiguous files are moved to contiguous locations so as to partially defragment the file.

  • Patent number: 5692553
Abstract: A vertical blind retaining device including a bracket. The bracket has a back member with a pair of wings projecting outwardly and extending from opposite ends of the back member. Each wing is extended at a ninety degree angle from the back member. Each wing has a slot and a plurality of mounting holes. The mounting holes are used when mounting the bracket to a wall of a window frame. Lastly, a retaining plate is seated within the slots of the bracket. The retaining plate has a bottom end with a notch cut into each corner. The notch is for coupling with a closed end of the corresponding slot of the bracket. The retaining plat is capable of securing a vertical blind compressed within the bracket when the bracket is attached to the window frame.
