  • Publication number: 20110053832
Abstract: Natural antimicrobials for foods, such as salad dressings and dairy products to target a broad spectrum of food emulsion spoilage microorganisms such as lactic acid bacteria and fungi such as general yeast and even acid-tolerant yeast (such as Zygosaccharomyces bailii). The formulations include at least a combination of a nisin or a nisin containing ingredient and an organic acid and/or its salt. Formulations can include cultured antibacterials that produce nisin and can be combined with organic acids/salts of, for example, acetic acid and Na-Acetate or Ca-Acetate. One formulation where broad spectrum spoilage inhibition is achieved includes nisin or a nisin containing cultured ingredient and 3 percent Ca-Acetate.

  • Publication number: 20070061983
Abstract: The invention relates to surface cleaning apparatus for removing contamination from sheet materials such as phototools and liquid crystal display (LCD) screens. The apparatus comprises a base unit having opposing walls for supporting a removable roller cartridge containing at least one cleaning roller and one adhesive roller. Progressive insertion of the roller cartridge into the base unit causes a camming mechanism provided on the base unit and the roller cartridge to interact so as to move the cleaning and adhesive rollers from a non-operatinig position in which the rollers are separated into an operating position in which the adhesive roller is brought into abutment with the cleaning roller. The apparatus is held in the operating position by a latching mechanism, for example, an electromagnet which may be selectively activated and deactivated simultaneously with activation and deactivation of a driving motor.

  • Publication number: 20060057322
Abstract: The invention relates to a sheeted roll (100), an apparatus (300) for sheeting such a roll (100) and a method for sheeting a roll. According to the invention, the sheeted roll (100) comprises a roll core (110) having at least one sheet of material removably attachable thereon and subsequent sheets of material then being removably attachable on previous sheets of material on the roll core (110), said at least one sheet and subsequent sheets of material providing an adhesive surface holding the sheets to one another on said roll core (110). The sheeted rolls according to the invention are used, in particular, for cleaning surfaces or for dispensing photosensitive emulsions onto a circuit board.
