  • Patent number: 6560557
Abstract: A system and method are described for providing remote demonstration and control of a test and measurement device. The system provides for user to request active instrument panel pages for a test and measurement device from a server. The server includes logic that emulates a test and measurement device instrument panel and provides constant update of the instrument panel page data regarding the remote control of the test and measurement device. The server in the correct message format provides the request for updated status data from a remote controlled instrument, for the selected remotely controlled test and measurement device. The server issues the received remote control requests to the remote controlled instrument. The remote controlled instrument provides data and reacts to commands received. The instrument, upon receiving a command or request for instrument state data, transmits said instrument state data to the server for further transmission to the client user interface for further display to a user.

  • Publication number: 20030032558
Abstract: Surfactant adjuvants that improve the bioefficacy of herbicides by combining known surfactancy, or wetting characteristics, of sulfosuccinate or sulfosuccinamate-based surfactants, with the proven bioefficiacy characteristics of alkoxylated amine-based surfactants. The surfactant adjuvants contain an amine-based surfactant, and a sulfosuccinate or sulfosuccinamate-based surfactant. The surfactant adjuvants are combined with herbicidal active ingredients, and optionally, one or more formulation aids to form herbicide compositions that have a reduced tendency to cause eye and skin irritation and can be used to control unwanted weeds or vegetation.

Abstract: The invention relates to a printer including a scanning mechanism provided in a housing, a mounting mechanism for releasably mounting a print head to the scanning mechanism, and an aperture. The scanning mechanism is arranged to move within the housing. The aperture is provided within the housing and arranged to be placed on, or adjacent to, an image receiving medium such that the print head, when mounted, is operable to print onto the image receiving medium through the aperture. In order to engrave an image into the image receiving medium, it is proposed that the mounting mechanism is arranged to accommodate a holding mechanism which holds a machining device for machining a medium. The printer may be provided with an ink supply containing a security ink, especially for printing entry receipts onto the hand of as customer entering a discotheque, concert, or other event.

  • Patent number: 6489853
Abstract: An oscillator is described which exhibits low phase noise characteristics. The oscillator circuit of the invention includes an inductor in series with a low value capacitor, this series combination of an inductor and a capacitor, in parallel with a low value inductor forms a resonator whose inductive and capacitive reactances are a very low value. This causes the loaded Q to be very close to the resonator's unloaded Q.

  • Patent number: 6380965
Abstract: The invention relates to a tape printing apparatus for printing an image on an image receiving tape. In order to detect characteristics of the tape thus avoiding representation means on a tape cassette, it is proposed to have detecting means for detecting-markings provided on the image receiving tape, which provide information on a characteristic of the tape; and the tape printing apparatus is controlled in accordance with the detected characteristics. Alternatively, it is proposed to have monitoring means for monitoring the speed of the image receiving tape, which detect marking on the image receiving tape whereby the printing means is controlled in dependence on the detected speed. Consequently, the exact tape speed is considered for printing purposes, even when slippage between driving means and tape occurs.

Abstract: The invention relates to a printer with a housing arranged to be manually positioned on an image receiving medium. In order to allow easy alignment, a window is provided such that the print face is visible through the window. A controller of the printer is operable to detect markings on an image receiving medium, the markings being scanned by means of a scanner. An information referring to a direction in which the printer is to be moved and the detected markings are displayed in order to obtain alignment between the print face and the detected markings. The invention also relates to using a medium with alignment marks, or to printing alignment marks onto a medium. Finally, a base station with an adjustable stop for positioning a print medium is disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20020004541
Abstract: Reduced pour point ethylene oxide/propylene oxide block copolymer surfactants, pour point depressants for reducing the pour point of such surfactants, and a process for preparing such surfactants, wherein the reduced pour point is achieved without adversely affecting the properties or structure of the parent ethylene oxide/propylene oxide block copolymer surfactant or contributing to the formation of a hazy product. According to the present invention, the pour point of ethylene oxide/propylene oxide block copolymer surfactants may be reduced by mixing a parent ethylene oxide/propylene oxide block copolymer surfactant with a pour point depressant comprising a low molecular weight glycol, water, and a dialkyl sulfosuccinate.
