Patent number: 9659505Abstract: A dementia therapy method that involves PWD in playing music, particularly as part of an ensemble “performing in concert”, which provides a rewarding and encouraging result of utilizing abilities that they may not even know they had to produce pleasing music. This method utilizes musical instruments adapted for playing by PWD who can utilize procedural rather than declarative memory in playing. By connecting a plurality of the instruments to a central director's console the combined musical sound can be coordinated to make it pleasing. Then several PWD are trained to play components of songs together as an group. An example of our specially adapted musical instruments is an easily played percussion instrument having an organized layout of one or more tone bars that, when struck (or touched) by a player generate a musical tone. The instrument may be further adapted to ease its use by movement restricted players.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 2015Date of Patent: May 23, 2017Inventors: Cameron J. Camp, Vincent Antenucci, Linda M. Camp, Karen Bescan, Evan Bescan, Charles A. Nelson, John C. Ryder

Patent number: 6890180Abstract: A phonetic transliteration card display includes a display board to which a plurality of display cards can be secured removably. The card display enables a person who speaks a first language, but not a second language, to speak simple phrases in the second language and be understood by a listener who speaks only the second language. This result is accomplished by displaying a source phrase in the first language on each display card, along with a target phrase that constitutes a translation of the source phrase in the second language. A phonetic transliteration of the target phrase is displayed in the first language. When the phonetic transliteration is read aloud by the speaker, the listener will hear, and therefore understand, the target phrase. The cards can be color-coded by subject matter, if desired. The display board contains a chamber that permits a number of display cards to be stored. The display board is constructed such that a number of similar boards can be connected to each other.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2003Date of Patent: May 10, 2005Assignee: Creative Action LLCInventors: Ronni S. Sterns, Harvey L. Sterns, Anthony Sterns, Charles A. Nelson, Vincent Antenucci, Cameron J. Camp, III, Kent W. Murphy

Patent number: 6889998Abstract: A foldable utility cart (10) includes a pair of spaced, parallel frame members (22). A collar (50) is disposed about each of the frame members (22) and is slidable therealong. A pair of front legs (40) and a pair of rear legs (46) are pivotally connected to the collars (50). The front and rear legs (40, 46) each support a wheel (44, 48). The collars (50) can be moved from a raised position where the legs (40, 46) and wheels (44, 48) are folded adjacent each other, to a lowered position where the legs (40, 46) and wheels (44, 48) are extended to support the cart (10) for movement on the ground. The cart (10) includes a moveable basket carrier assembly (18). The basket carrier assembly (18) includes toothed racks (110) that are connected to channel members (24) for movement therealong. A ratchet clutch (136) is used to permit up or down movement of the racks (110) and to maintain the racks (110) at any desired vertical position.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 2001Date of Patent: May 10, 2005Assignee: Creative Action LLCInventors: Ronni S. Patent number: 4922708Abstract: A starting system for a turbine engine comprises a single D.C. electric motor that drives both a positive displacement fuel pressure boost pump and a positive displacement metering pump. A multiple position recirculation valve is positioned between the metering pump and a starting fuel reservoir for shunting fuel to tank so as to enable the D.C. motor to rapidly achieve full speed. When start parameters are sensed by a computer, the recirculation valve is closed which directs full fuel pressure to the starting fuel reservoir.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 1989Date of Patent: May 8, 1990Assignee: Williams International CorporationInventor: Charles A.
