  • Publication number: 20080100586
Abstract: A method for calibrating a touch screen. Method may be comprised of determining an area for a region suitable for receiving, excluding activations determined to be located within a defined distance from the outer edge of the area determined for the region, accumulating a pattern of activations for a centroid within the region, and tuning a calibration factor to reposition the centroid within the center of the region.

  • Patent number: 6496885
Abstract: A network includes a plurality of electronic control units (ECU) connected with each other and receiving messages via a bus, each message having an identifier portion and a data portion. An ECU processes messages by converting the message identifier to a hash value, comparing the hash value to a plurality of index values stored in a lookup table, the lookup table having relevance values corresponding to each index value, discarding the message if a corresponding relevance value indicates that the message is not relevant to the ECU, inserting the message into memory buffer if a corresponding relevance value indicates that the message is relevant to the ECU, and further processing only selected ones of the messages in the buffer. Preferably, the hash value has fewer data bits than that of the identifier portion of the messages, and the number of unique hash values is the same as a number of index values.

  • Patent number: 5772259
Abstract: An actuating slide assembly for an automatic assembly machine, wherein the slide assembly includes telescoping fluid conducting conduits interconnected between the slide body and associated end block mounted for relative reciprocal movement relative to the slide body and a sealing arrangement for effecting a fluid tight seal between the relative movable telescoping conduits and associated slide body and end block. The sealing arrangement includes a sealing cartridge and associated O rings circumscribing one of the telescoping fluid conduits intermediate the opposed ends thereof to prohibit any leakage between the relative movable telescoping conduits and the associated slide body and a second sealing arrangement connecting the outer end of a telescoping conduit to its associated end block in a manner to provide a leakproof seal therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4301775
Abstract: A manifold for an internal combustion engine comprises a plurality of body parts each formed as an integral casting by pressure casting. A first body part has a mounting flange for the manifold, a plurality of open channels communicating with respective apertures in the mounting flange, and a water chamber communicating with a port in the flange and a further port in the first body part. A second body part overlies the channels so that the first and second body parts define a plurality of gas conduits effecting communication between the apertures and a common orifice. The first and second parts are sealed together along opposed side faces adjacent their outer peripheral edges. The seal along opposing sides allows access to the joints from the exterior of the assembly, permitting connection by electron beam welding or an adhesive, since all the joints are located on the exterior of the assembly a smoother interior surface is preserved and visual inspection of each joint is possible as it is made.
