  • Patent number: 4052367
Abstract: Radiation sensitive polymers comprising:A. from about 1 to 100 mole percent of a polymerized monomer having the formula ##STR1## wherein R is a hydrocarbon group having from 2 to 20 carbon atoms, preferably a bridged hydrocarbon group having from 6 to 10 carbon atoms; andB. from 0 to about 99 mole percent of at least one additional polymerized ethylenically unsaturated monomer are advantageously soluble in organic solvents, possess desirably high glass transition temperatures and are capable of undergoing a photochemical reaction to yield polymers having isocyanate and oxy-substituted cyclopropane moieties which are capable of crosslinking in the presence of active hydrogen-containing compounds. The polymers are useful in radiation sensitive compositions and elements containing same.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4046993
Abstract: A system for determining the proper instant of time to launch an object, h as a target or torpedo, from an aircraft to cause the object to impact a water surface at a predetermined nose-down angle, thereby preventing structural damage due to high impact forces. The system utilizes signals produced by instrumentation representative of the aircraft pitch and angular rate of pitch. The desired launch altitude and predetermined impact angle are physically set into the system by means of adjustable voltage sources. These parameters are processed in the system such that the system forms a complete electronic analogy to the physical laws which govern the motion of the free falling object. In operation, the system continuously computes the predicted impact angle based on the instantaneous inputs of the aircraft's altitude, pitch angle and pitch rate. It then compares the predicted impact angle with the predetermined impact angle.

  • Patent number: 4005740
Abstract: A rotation resistant nut having an internally threaded nut body and having a portion of the exterior surface of the nut body provided with an irregular configuration. The rotation resistant nut is adapted to be used as an insert-type nut and upon installation of the nut into a round hole in a workpiece having a diameter smaller than the major diameter of the nut, the workpiece deforms the nut body so that the internal threads of the nut become distorted to create a prevailing torque locking characteristic between the internal threads of the nut and a cooperating threaded male fastener.
