  • Publication number: 20230279978
Abstract: Safety conduit system includes a pair of couplings, each including an elongate fitting or housing having barbs at one end and spaced apart teeth at an opposite end. A conduit made of a thermoplastic hose, and stainless steel reinforcement around the hose is attached at each end to the barbed end of a respective coupling. A thread is optionally provided on an outer surface of the housing inward of the barbs so that ferrules on the conduit and having inner threads can threadingly engage with the threads on the couplings and enable the safety conduit system to maintain connection between the conduit and couplings at relatively high fluid flow pressure through the safety conduit system, such as around 40,000 psi.

  • Patent number: 8656940
Abstract: A housing at each end of a conduit defines a valve seat. A connector is connected to a valve body in each housing and holds the bodies away from the seats until the conduit fails, after which each body moves into contact with the corresponding seat. A compression zone between each body and the corresponding seat is sufficiently large to reduce heat generated thereat from adiabatic compression of the fluid flowing therethrough. In a variation, two heat-dissipating ribs are externally positioned on each housing adjacent the compression zone. In another variation, the connector is a generally helical spring within the conduit and sized to be in contact with an interior wall of the conduit so that the spring provides structural strength thereto. In another variation, a third housing is employed as a one-way check valve.

  • Publication number: 20110214750
Abstract: In an embodiment, there is disclosed a flexible fluid conduit having a breakaway coupling at one or both ends and a safety system that includes a spring in compression which applies thrust (a pull) to flapper valves at both ends of the flexible fluid conduit through relatively stiff bendable spring rods which push the valves open as long as the flexible hose is intact. Upon a hose failure such as a drive away, a coupling separation, a hose separation, or a longitudinal tear, the spring looses its compression and the pull applied to the valves by the spring in compression changes to a pull which immediately pulls the valves to close.

  • Publication number: 20110215564
Abstract: There is disclosed a three bolt breakaway coupling adapted to be connected to either one or both ends of a flexible fluid conduit having a housing at each end that may include a valve. The breakaway coupling has two generally triangular shaped flanges where each flange has a central opening surrounded by a sealing member such as an 0 ring and an opening located at each corner of each triangular shaped flange for receiving a shear bolt. At least two of the three shear bolts which couple the two triangular flanges together will break when a specified pull at any angle is applied to the three bolt breakaway coupling. The first and second housings may contain valves for controlling the flow of a fluid through the conduit.

  • Publication number: 20100332016
Abstract: A system and method for trimming flash from the body of a workpiece. The system uses a laser system and a vision system to determine quickly a cut line for removing flash from the workpiece. The method includes the steps of projecting a line of light onto the workpiece that crosses the flash and the body and determining the profile of the line in an image obtained by a vision system. The system and method are capable of dynamically trimming while determining where to cut the flash from the body of the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 5283967
Abstract: A multi-purpose, front-loading display frame includes a front frame member having a window section for viewing a display item disposed therebehind and a rear frame member for releasably supporting at least one interchangeable display item. The front frame member is hingedly secured to the rear frame member so as to allow for pivotable movement of the frame members between a closed position, in which the frame members are disposed closely adjacent to one another so that a display item supported on the rear frame member is disposed behind the window section for viewing, and an open position, in which the frame members are pivoted apart from one another to permit removal and replacement of the display item. A closure member is mounted on at least one of the front and rear frame members for releasably maintaining the front and rear frame members in the closed position thereof.
