  • Publication number: 20040051383
Abstract: A remote power controller circuit (58) including a main switch (98) and a current limiting circuit (82). The main switch (82) has a switching duty factor and is operative between a first state and a second state. The main switch (98) when in the first state allows current (60) to pass to an output terminal (92) and when in the second state preventing current (60) from passing to the output terminal (92). The current limiting circuit (82) is electrically coupled to the main switch (98) and includes a limiting inductor (134) that controls rate of change of current flow to the output terminal (92). A flyback diode (130) is electrically coupled to the limiting inductor (134) and provides a current path for the limiting inductor (134) to discharge when the main switch (98) is in the second state. A method of limiting current flow through the remote power controller circuit (58) is also provided.

  • Patent number: 4109166
Abstract: The collector current of a first transistor serves as the base drive current for a second transistor of opposite conductivity type than the first transistor. When conduction occurs through the collector-to-emitter path of the second transistor, a conducting diode connected between the emitter of the first transistor and the collector of the second transistor clamps this collector to a relatively fixed voltage level referenced to the fixed base voltage of the first transistor. This prevents saturation of the second transistor and thus reduces the "storage delay", that is the turn-off time delay of the second transistor. In addition, the charge stored at the base electrode of the second transistor is removed when its collector-to-emitter current flow is interrupted to further reduce the turn-off time of this transistor.

  • Patent number: 4059785
Abstract: In a CRT display exhibiting a Rho-Theta format where certain of the lines would normally extend beyond the edges of the CRT screen, feedback signals from at least a deflection coil are used to terminate display lines at the edge of the screen and to initiate immediate retrace. Compensation is applied to at least a deflection voltage to compensate for display line bunching caused by unequal scan line times.

  • Patent number: 4041357
Abstract: Equipment operating at high voltage which is subject to damaging voltage breakdown at relatively high altitudes and therefore relatively low pressures has a pressure sensitive switch such as a spark gap included in the high voltage circuit in shunting relationship. At lower altitudes no voltage breakdown occurs across the spark gap and the high voltage circuit operates normally. At high altitude voltage breakdown occurs across the spark gap shunting potentially harmful voltages from the high voltage equipment.

  • Patent number: 4038655
Abstract: Contour correction circuitry is provided for use in a weather radar which has iso-contour circuitry and which has a digital display having a tendency to undesirably not display the trailing edge boundary, for example, of a storm cloud. The correction circuitry is responsive to even a momentary signal indicating the close of a contour for forcing a contour boundary to appear on the digital display. The correction circuitry also enhances the texture of the radar when displaying snow flurries, ground returns, etc. which exhibit unique pattern characteristics.
