  • Publication number: 20230306705
Abstract: A computer implemented method for providing feedback to a user input. The method includes obtaining data representing a scene model derived from scene data representing a scene in real space; obtaining data representing a user input identifying a first portion of the scene in real space; estimating, based on the user input data, a first position within the scene model corresponding to the first portion of the scene; determining control information for controlling a light source to direct light at or near a second position in real space corresponding to the first position within the scene model; and outputting the control information to control a light source, thereby to provide for feedback to the user input. The method may be implemented by a robot.

  • Publication number: 20230114258
Abstract: Measures for use in operating a robot having one or more sensors. A representation of an environment of the robot is generated by operating the one or more sensors to sense a set of parameters representative of the environment of the robot. A list of objects in the environment and associated identifiers for each object in the list is generated. Control data is received from the electronic user device. The control data includes an identifier for an object in the generated list that a user of the electronic user device wishes to locate within the environment. In response to receipt of the control data, the robot and the one or more sensors are operated to search the environment to determine a location of the identified object in the environment.

  • Publication number: 20230101981
Abstract: Measures for use operating a robot having one or more sensors. At the robot, a representation of an environment of the robot is generated by operating the one or more sensors to sense a set of parameters representative of the environment of the robot. The representation includes at least one surface in the environment other than a surface on which the robot is located. Control data is received from the electronic user device. The control data indicates a desired action to be performed at the at least one surface in the environment of the robot. In response to receipt of the control data, the robot is caused to perform the desired action at the at least one surface in the environment of the robot.

  • Publication number: 20230084228
Abstract: Measures for use in controlling a robot. At an electronic user device, data representative of an environment of the robot is received from the robot. The received data indicates a location of at least one moveable object in the environment. In response to receipt of the representative data, a representation of the environment of the robot is displayed on a graphical display of the electronic user device. Input is received from a user of the electronic user device indicating a desired location for the at least one moveable object in the environment of the robot. In response to receipt of the user input, control data is transmitted to the robot. The control data is operable to cause the robot to move the at least one object to the desired location in the environment of the robot.

  • Publication number: 20150138692
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of coating a structured surface comprising the steps of providing nanoparticles of a first coating material, and depositing the nanoparticles onto a structured surface using electrophoretic deposition. The structured surface may comprise one or more carbon nanotubes which maybe an array. The coating material may be a dielectric material such as barium titanate which may have a particle size of approximately 20 nm diameter. Following the deposition step a second coating may be provided. The second coating may be hafnium oxide. Also disclosed is a capacitor comprising a first electrode of a structured material, a second electrode of conducting material, and a dielectric layer formed between the first and second electrode.

  • Publication number: 20150131205
Abstract: Disclosed is a capacitor (200) comprising a first structured surface having a dielectric coating (230), a second structured surface having a dielectric coating (230), a separator (240) provided between the first structured surface and the second structured surface, and an electrolyte provided between the first structured surface and the second structured surface. The structured surface may be formed from carbon which may be a random array of carbon nanotubes having a spacing to length ratio of the carbon nanotubes is not greater than 1:30. The dielectric coating may be selected from but not limited to hafnium oxide, barium titanate (BTO), BST, PZT, CCTO or titanium dioxide or a combination of two or more such materials.

  • Publication number: 20150091134
Abstract: A method of depositing a material on a substrate using an atomic layer deposition process, wherein the deposition process comprises a first deposition step, a second deposition step subsequent to the first deposition step, and a delay of at least one minute between the first deposition step and the second deposition step. Each deposition step comprises a plurality of deposition cycles. The delay is introduced to the deposition process by prolonging a period of time for which a purge gas is supplied to a process chamber housing the substrate at the end of a selected one of the deposition cycles.
