Publication number: 20160179066Abstract: Technologies are presented that provide contextually interactive apparel in practical implementations and applications. A method for directing a change in an interface of a wearable device may include detecting a trigger and providing a change command to an interface controller of a wearable device based on the trigger. The interface controller may direct a change (e.g., a change in visual pattern, audio, etc.) in an interface of the wearable device, based on the change command, that is perceivable by persons in proximity of the wearable device. The providing the change command may include providing one or more change commands to a plurality of wearable devices in a choreographed manner. The method may further include determining other wearable devices that exist and/or are being concurrently worn within a predetermined proximity of the wearable device, and providing information regarding the other wearable devices.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 23, 2014Publication date: June 23, 2016Applicant: Intel CorporationInventors: Stephen C. Patent number: 9344416Abstract: In one embodiment, a trusted cloud service such as an “electronic vault” may store records of a consumer's electronic data file history. These documents may come from disparate providers and include financial statements and the like. The trusted vault cloud may act as an online notary to certify documents are legitimate and may be trusted. For example, a retailer may dispute whether the consumer paid a debt. To resolve the issue the retailer may access the cloud vault to retrieve a bank statement for the consumer, whereby the bank statement is electronically notorized by the vault cloud and is thus credible to the retailer. The retailer may then see proof the consumer had indeed paid a past debt to the retailer. Other embodiments are described herein.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 2012Date of Patent: May 17, 2016Assignee: Intel CorporationInventor: Charles Baron

Publication number: 20160077530Abstract: A smart valve for controlling a plumbing fixture includes a control valve, a hydroelectric generator, and one or more sensors. The hydroelectric generator produces electrical power for the smart valve. The smart valve monitors sensor data from the sensors, evaluates the sensor data, and performs control actions in response to evaluating the sensor data. Control actions include restricting or shutting off water flow using the control valve. Control actions also include transmitting control messages to remote computing devices, for example to activate appliances or other home automation devices. The sensors may include a temperature sensor, a flow sensor, a proximity sensor, and/or a humidity sensor. The smart valve may shut off the water flow when a measured sensor value exceeds a predefined threshold value. The smart valve may be coupled inline between a plumbing system and a plumbing fixture. Other embodiments are described and claimed.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 12, 2014Publication date: March 17, 2016Inventors: Michael T. Moran, Charles Baron

Publication number: 20150222672Abstract: This disclosure is directed to a situational crowd-sourced response system. The system may comprise at least one crowd-sourced response management (CSRM) control device and CSRM devices for subscribers. An event may be reported by a CSRM device (e.g., through an event notification) or from an external reporting system (e.g., EAS). The at least one CSRM control device may then determine if CSRM devices are in within a certain locational proximity to the event, credentials for the users of the proximate CSRM devices, etc., and may form response groups based on these determinations. At least one response group may then be activated to provide aid in regard to the event. Users may also be requested to confirm compliance with the response instructions so that, if necessary, additional response groups may be activated. Sensor and/or communication resources in the CSRM devices may be activated to coordinate crowd-sourced aid, emergency services, etc.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 9, 2013Publication date: August 6, 2015Inventors: Robert L. Patent number: 8126794Abstract: Methods and systems for trading and replicating contingent claims, such as derivatives strategies, in a demand-based auction are described. In one embodiment, a set of demand-based claims, each of which can be a vanilla option or a digital option, approximate or replicate the contingent claim into a vanilla replicating basis or a digital replicating basis, and the order for the contingent claim is then evaluated or processed in the demand-based auction. In another embodiment, a plurality of strikes and a plurality of replicating claims are established for a demand-based auction on an event, one or more replicating claims striking at each of the strikes in the auction. A contingent claim, such as a derivatives strategy, is replicated with a replication set that includes one or more of the replicating claims in the auction. The equilibrium price and/or the payout for the derivatives strategy is determined as a function of the demand-based valuation of each of the replicating claims in the replication set.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 2003Date of Patent: February 28, 2012Assignee: Longitude LLCInventors: Jeffrey Lange, Kenneth Charles Baron, Charles Walden, Marcus Harte
