  • Publication number: 20150097670
Abstract: A server verifies that an address of record for a personal emergency response (PERS) device is in agreement with a current address of the PERS device. The PERS device has a docking station and a wearable unit. At start-up, the docking station places a call to the server and the server receives coordinates of the wearable unit. The coordinates are reverse-mapped into the current address and compared with the address of record. If the address and the address of record differ, the address of record is updated to reflect the current address.

  • Patent number: 8731163
Abstract: Identifying a caller includes establishing, by a service provider, a connection over a computer network with a user device and accessing information enabling determination of a location of the user. A request to place a call to a call recipient is received from the user and a pool of temporary telephone numbers is accessed. Based on the location of the user, a temporary telephone number from the pool of temporary telephone numbers is selected. The temporary telephone number is associated with the call, the call is initiated to the call recipient, and information sufficient to identify the temporary telephone number is provided in call information sent to the call recipient.

  • Publication number: 20090252749
Abstract: The invention provides for mammalian cells capable of producing recombinant CTLA4-Ig and variants thereof. The invention also provides for compositions comprising CTLA4-Ig and formulations thereof. The invention further provides for methods for mass-producing CTLA4-Ig from mammalian cells capable of producing this recombinant protein, and for purifying the CTLA4-Ig.

  • Publication number: 20060185765
Abstract: A fuel pump nozzle lever holding device is claimed that allows a user to pump fuel without applying constant hand pressure to the fuel pump nozzle lever. The device works by either clamping or wedging the nozzle lever in the compressed or “open” position. Embodiments of the invention include a clamp that closes and latches to compress the nozzle lever to the nozzle handle; a spring tension clamp that clamps over the nozzle lever and handle; and a bracing bar that wedges the nozzle lever closed from inside of the nozzle handle.

  • Patent number: 5396069
Abstract: A monocular night vision apparatus employing an infrared energy spectrum source of illumination and a camera lens and night vision image intensifier combined receiver apparatus into a small hand-held portable package that is both low in cost and reliable in nature is described. The night vision transmitter apparatus includes a laser diode energy source that is coupled to an aperture controlled and focus controlled optical system and driven by an electronic closed-loop feedback energization circuit which employs self-contained battery sources of energy. Multiple operating modes and operating intensities of the light source are provided through a plurality of signal inputs to the closed feedback loop of the laser diode energy source. Disturbance of the closed feedback loop by reflected energy within the optical transmitter apparatus is precluded by the use of feedback prevention optical alignment in the transmitter's optical system.

  • Patent number: 4774009
Abstract: A method for dewatering slurry product streams of a corn wet milling process is disclosed. The dewatering process uses an automatic pressure filter to perform the dewatering. The filter is operated at 4 to 20 bars pressure for about 5 to 25 minutes. Such filter is shown to have an improved efficiency over conventional mechanical filtering devices.

  • Patent number: 4465347
Abstract: An improved helmet is provided including means to telescopically acquire an image of a field of view, which comprises, a telescopic optical system including an objective lens mounted to said helmet above the line of sight of the wearer, a light-conducting fiber optics bundle mounted to said helmet for receiving the image from the objective lens, and collimating lens for receiving the image from the fiber optics bundle and projecting the image onto a helmet-mounted visor in the line of sight of the wearer. A shutter, remotely controllable by the wearer, may be disposed intermediate the objective lens and display to selectively block transmission of the image.

  • Patent number: 3977435
Abstract: A valve having stacked disks with alternate circular grooves in the faces thereof to provide a high pressure drop surface in fluid flow transverse to said grooves and ridges. The disks are circular in shape with a circular center opening to provide a central fluid opening when the disks are stacked with the center openings in register. Fluid enters the center opening and flows radially between the adjacent faces of a pair of disks to flow transversely across the continuous circular grooves and ridges.
