  • Publication number: 20240027620
Abstract: A processor is operably coupled to a time of flight (TOF) camera, a light detection and ranging (LIDAR) sensor, and an optical camera. The processor can receive a TOF signal representative of a first coordinate associated with a stick-up height of a tool joint of a pipe of a drill string during a tripping operation on a rig drill floor, and a pitch and a roll of the tool joint. The processor can receive a LIDAR signal representative of a second coordinate associated with the stick-up height, and the pitch of the tool joint. The processor can receive an optical camera signal representative of a third coordinate associated with the stick-up height of the tool joint and the roll of the tool joint. The processor can generate a pose estimate and an orientation estimate based on the signals.

  • Publication number: 20080205466
Abstract: In one example embodiment, a ridge waveguide (RWG) laser includes a substrate, an active layer disposed above the substrate, a ridge structure disposed above the active layer, a contact layer disposed above the ridge structure, a compressively strained dielectric passivation layer disposed above the active layer and extending along either side of the ridge structure such that the passivation layer is in substantial contact with each side of the ridge structure, and a top metallic contact layer disposed above both the dielectric passivation layer and the contact layer and layered alongside the portions of the dielectric passivation layer that contact the sides of the ridge structure.

  • Patent number: 7412248
Abstract: In one embodiment, a system and method for determining a location of a mobile device are described. A number of different locations for the mobile device is provided using a location determining system. The locations for a number of virtual base stations are determined utilizing the known locations for the mobile device. Then a new location for the mobile device is established based on the determined plurality of locations of the virtual base stations. In one embodiment, a system and method for establishing network references for a first wireless location determining system are described. A plurality of known locations for a mobile device is provided using a second location determining system. Radio signals between the mobile device and base stations of the first wireless location determining system are measured and a plurality of locations for a respective plurality of virtual base stations are determined based on the known locations of the mobile device and the measured radio signals.

  • Patent number: 5820966
Abstract: The process provides a method of removing arsenic from solutions containing sulfur dioxide in an environmentally acceptable manner. This process first oxidizes arsenic, iron and sulfur dioxide contained in an aqueous solution to prepare the solution for precipitation and to improve process control. Recycled neutralized precipitate seeds the oxidized aqueous solution. A calcium-containing base precipitates products of neutralization on the seeds. The final neutralized precipitate contains a stable ferric arsenate compounds.
