Publication number: 20230058622Abstract: Scintillating glass ceramics are disclosed. The scintillating glass ceramics may be used as an x-ray conversion layer (screen) for a flat panel imager (FPD) and as part of an imaging system. The FPD may have a single screen or a dual screen. The scintillating glass ceramics may be used for either a front screen or a back screen. The scintillating glass ceramics may be used for high energy x-ray applications including for energies of about 0.3 to about 20 MeV. A build-up layer may be attached to the scintillating glass ceramics for high energy applications. The scintillating glass ceramics may include a glass matrix hosting luminescent centers and light scattering centers. The materials used for the luminescent centers and light scattering centers may be the same or different. The scintillating glass ceramics may be coated onto a glass substrate.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 22, 2021Publication date: February 23, 2023Applicants: THE RESEARCH FOUNDATION FOR THE STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK, UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE RESEARCH FOUNDATION, GEORGIA TECH RESEARCH CORPORATIONInventors: Anthony R. Patent number: 11153328Abstract: Systems for managing multiple shared content objects using access tokens that cover the multiple shared content objects are disclosed. A method commences upon assigning the shared content objects to have individual permissions grantable to two or more users. A user configures a shareable unit to include attributes that describe a plurality of constituent shared content objects stored on one or more storage devices in the cloud-based storage system. An administrator or other user configures allow/deny access privileges to the shareable unit. Upon receiving a request from a user to access the shareable unit, a single access token is generated to provide access to the shared content objects that comprise the shareable unit. Ongoing access to the shareable unit is accomplished using the single access token, without the need to provision an access token or tokens pertaining to individual ones of the constituent shared content objects of the shareable unit.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2019Date of Patent: October 19, 2021Assignee: Box, Inc.Inventor: Michael David Charles Bond

Patent number: 10013157Abstract: A cloud-based environment is configured to interface with storage devices that store 3D object models and a 3D rendering code base that is accessible by two or more user devices over a network using browsers or web agents. A web application is delivered to the user device, whereupon the browser or agent receives the 3D object model and the 3D rendering code into a web application that has user controls for defining at least one 3D scene that is rendered using user-defined camera shots and events associated with the 3D object model. User interactions invoke executable event handler components and executable shot components that correspond to one or more camera shots. User controls serve to invoke generation of custom event handler components and executable shot components. A preview of the 3D scene is presented by rendering the shots and events in a web browser or web agent.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 2015Date of Patent: July 3, 2018Assignee: Box, Inc.Inventors: Ross Albert Inch McKegney, Michael David Charles Bond, Derrick Ronald Weis

Publication number: 20150218227Abstract: A method of regulating expression of a gene in a cell is described, comprising the step of introducing into the cell a recombinant polypeptide comprising a PPR RNA-binding domain which itself comprises at least a pair of PPR RNA base-binding motifs. The PPR RNA base-binding motifs of the PPR RNA-binding domain are operably capable of binding the target RNA molecule with a target RNA sequence. Recombinant polypeptides comprising at least one PPR RNA-binding domain capable of binding to target RNA sequence are also described, together with fusion proteins comprising the recombinant PPR RNA-binding domains as well as isolated nucleic acids useful in preparing the recombinant polypeptides described. Recombinant vectors; compositions comprising the recombinant polypeptides; isolated nucleic acids; recombinant vectors; host cells comprising same; use of same in the manufacture of a medicament for regulating gene expression; as well as systems and kits for regulating gene expression are also described.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 16, 2013Publication date: August 6, 2015Inventors: Alice Barkan, Ian Small, Margarita Rojas, Charles Bond, Sota Fujii, Yee Seng Chong

Publication number: 20110223031Abstract: A blade for a wind turbine comprises a first free end and a second end attachable a wind turbine shaft, a first surface joining a second surface along a first side edge and a second side edge, the first and second surfaces defining an airfoil section. At the first end, a first portion of the airfoil section extending from the first side edge to the longitudinal axis is symmetrical about the longitudinal axis with a second portion of the airfoil section extending from the second side edge to the longitudinal axis. There is also disclosed a wind turbine comprising an even number of blades, the even number being four or more. In addition, there is disclosed a method of processing a radar signal reflected from a wind turbine having an even number of blades to reduce an amplitude of a clutter signal generated by the wind turbine, as well as a tower for a wind turbine.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 14, 2009Publication date: September 15, 2011Inventor: Philip Charles Bond
