  • Publication number: 20070038082
Abstract: A medical diagnostic ultrasound transducer system has at least a first and a second set of transducer layers of an element. Each set has one or more transducer layers with independent electrical access. A transmit event through a first set of transducer layers with broadband electrical signals generates acoustic signals containing at least two different frequency bands, and a receive event through a second and different set of transducer layers receives multiple tissue harmonic signals to generate a wide bandwidth response. Fundamental signals can be reduced with a pulse inversion technique through a second transmit event of inverted pulses, a second receive event and superposition of signals from the two receive events.

  • Publication number: 20060241454
Abstract: Transmit multibeams insonify an object with multiple noncollinear transmit beams fired substantially simultaneously. The noncollinear beams are along different scan lines of same scan geometry, or they belong to scan lines of different scan geometries. One or more receive beams are formed in parallel in response to each of the noncollinear beams. The scan geometry and/or center frequency is varied between the noncollinear transmit beams of a transmit event. By scanning the transmit multibeam, and varying the scan geometry and/or frequency between the noncollinear transmit beams of a transmit event, multiple component images are generated for compounding. The component images are scan-converted (if scan geometries are different), weighted and combined after envelope detection.

  • Publication number: 20060185456
Abstract: An embodiment provides a shift inhibitor apparatus. At least a portion of the range actuating assembly is moveable between a range first ratio and a range second ratio. The portion of the range actuating assembly is moveable, at least in part, in response to a fluid pressure. The range chamber is selectively in fluid communication with a vent. The shift inhibitor includes a main section neutral interlock having an interlock chamber. At least a portion of the main section neutral interlock is moveable between a first condition and a second condition. The interlock chamber is selectively in fluid communication with the vent. The range chamber can be exhausted such that the range section is selectively switched from the first ratio to the second ratio. The interlock chamber can be exhausted such that the main section neutral interlock is selectively switched from the first condition to the second condition.

  • Publication number: 20060185458
Abstract: An embodiment provides a shift inhibitor apparatus for a multiple speed transmission main section. The transmission includes an input shaft and an output shaft The transmission main section has a plurality of selectively engageable ratios. The transmission also has a range section shiftable between a range high ratio and a range low ratio. The shift inhibitor includes an interlock moveable between a locked condition and a released condition, wherein the interlock selectively prevents a gear shift in the transmission main section. The shift inhibitor also includes a range sensor valve. The range sensor valve selectively detects a range shift of the range section. The range sensor valve selectively causes the interlock to be positioned in the released condition upon detection of a completed range shift. The interlock is selectively positioned by a fluid.

  • Publication number: 20060173313
Abstract: A set of N×M signals are acquired from an object, where N is the number of array elements and M corresponds to variations in data acquisition and/or processing parameters. The parameters include transmit aperture functions, transmit waveforms, receive aperture functions, and receive filtering functions in space and/or time. A coherence factor is computed as a ratio of the energy of the coherent sum to the energy of the at-least-partially incoherent sum of channel or image signals acquired with at least one different parameter. Partial beamformed data may be used for channel coherence calculation. For image domain coherence, a component image is formed for each different transmit beam or receive aperture function, and a coherence factor image is computed using the set of component images. The coherence factor image is displayed or used to modify or blend other images formed of the same region.

  • Patent number: 6937996
Abstract: The subject invention is directed to a method and system for selecting and purchasing media advertising in a user/server environment accessed through a Web site. The method includes accessing a server system through a Web site by an advertiser in which the advertiser provides information relating to buying criteria and customer data through a form on the Web page in order to select and purchase media advertising. The server system receives and processes the information in order to create at least one media advertising rate request. The server system transmits the rate request to at least one media outlet for processing. The media outlet processes the rate request and transmits the processed rate request to the server system. The server system manipulates the processed rate request to create a media advertising schedule and then transmits the advertising schedule to the advertiser.

  • Patent number: 6926120
Abstract: Masonry project kits assist with building basements. In the course of building a basement, it is frequently necessary to climb over and lift equipment over walls. A wall hanger is provided to attach a ladder to the side of a wall. The ladder's height can be adjusted by changing which rungs are hung on the wall hanger. A platform at the base of the ladder allows the floor of a basement to be finished without leaving footprints. A hoist is also included for lifting loads into and out of a basement or over a wall. The hoist securely mounts to the corner of a wall. Both the wall hanger and the hoist accommodate a variety of wall widths.

  • Patent number: 6657188
Abstract: Neutral particles, such as atoms and molecules, transported along a path having at least one curved region are selectively conveyed or filtered according to each particle's velocity by generating an inhomogeneous magnetic field across a cross-section of the path. The neutral particles may be transported through a physical tube or simply through the region defined by the magnetic field. The path may have more than one curved region and may additionally have one or more straight regions. The magnetic field may be generated for example by homogeneously or inhomogeneously magnetized permanent magnets or by current carrying elements. The magnetic elements may additionally be used in conjunction with at least one piece of a high permeability magnetic material for focussing or containing the magnetic field.

  • Patent number: 6409807
Abstract: The present invention relates to detecting the state of a slide block positioned in a linear valve and using the position of the slide block to predict the health of a linear valve and provide information to a controller/monitor. An operator is provided with information before failure occurrence to allow preventative maintenance of the linear valve. The linear valve is constructed with two canister ports and a vent port. The slide block can be constructed to block the two canister ports and vent port simultaneously. The system can control the position of the block, when provided with position information, hence, using the slide block as a shutoff valve. The typical slide valve can be used as an integral slide shutoff valve, reducing system complexity and reducing system weight, which is critical to airborne applications.

  • Patent number: 6221018
Abstract: A medical diagnostic ultrasonic imaging method and system subdivide the transmit aperture into two or more subapertures, each subaperture having at least four adjacent transducer elements. The subapertures are phased differently with respect to one another to selectively reduce either fundamental components or harmonic components of echoes from tissue. These techniques can be used to improve contrast agent harmonic imaging as well as tissue harmonic imaging, depending upon the phase shift selected.
