  • Patent number: 6513016
Abstract: An automated product pricing system including a physical store system, a virtual store system, and a control system. The physical and virtual store systems are capable of transmitting sales data indicative of the number of sales of identified respective products. The control system is adapted to receive the sales data from the physical store system and the virtual store system. In response thereto, the control system generates price change data including a changed price of an identified product based on the sales data received from at least one of the physical and virtual store systems. The price change data is then transmitted by the control system to at least one of the physical and virtual store systems to thereby change the price of the identified product.

  • Patent number: 4837797
Abstract: An electronic message unit adapted for use with an existing telephone and a public communication link for receiving incoming messages (machine interpretable messages and voice messages) over the communication link and for receiving incoming call signals indicating an incoming message being receivble over the communication link including a telephone control assembly and a message controller. The telephone control assembly is connectable to the communication link and to the existing telephone for receiving call incoming signals and for connecting to the communication link in response to receiving a call incoming signal, the telephone control assembly receiving the incoming messages over the communication link when connected to the communication link and outputting the received incoming messages. The message controller receives the incoming messages outputted by the telephone control assembly and determines the incoming message to be either a machine interpretable message or a voice message.

  • Patent number: 4232317
Abstract: An object location system wherein signals are transmitted or received via more than one transmit station and wherein the objects receive signals from the transmit stations or transmit signals for reception by the treatment stations within a data base region and wherein location coordinates are established in response to the signals received by the transmit stations or in response to the signals received at the object from the transmit stations at a predetermined number of geographic locations within the data base region by positioning the object receiver or transmitter at each of the predetermined geographic locations. The objects are located within the data base region by comparing location coordinates determined in response to signals received at the transmit stations or in response to signals received at the objects with the established location coordinates.

  • Patent number: 4209787
Abstract: A method for monitoring the location of monitored objects within a monitored area wherein signpost units are positioned at the intersections of first and second coordinate grid lines and each signpost unit transmits a signpost code comprising a first portion corresponding to the first coordinate grid line and a second portion corresponding to the second coordinate grid line. The first coordinate grid lines are assigned numbers sequentially increasing in a first direction and the second coordinate grid lines are assigned numbers sequentially increasing in a second direction. The signpost unit output signals encoded with the signpost codes are received via vehicle units located in the monitored objects and the unique signpost codes are utilized to determine the location of the monitored object relative to one of the signpost units including the direction of the monitored object from the signpost unit.
