  • Patent number: 6355605
Abstract: A cleaning composition and method are provided for removing iron stains and scale from the external surfaces of duck decoys. An illustrative composition contains hydrochloric acid, stannous chloride, ammonium bifluoride, and water. The compositions are applied to the duck decoys with a pressurized sprayer to discolor and dislodge the stain and scale and thereafter the decoys are water rinsed with a garden hose or the like to remove the dislodged material.

  • Patent number: 4312388
Abstract: A dust control apparatus in the form of a hood is disclosed for minimizing or eliminating the evolution of dust when loading dust laden solid discrete particles from a large container to a series of small containers. The apparatus is designed specifically for unloading spent catalysts from catalytic vessels into a series of drums without evolution of voluminous clouds of dust. The apparatus and method are designed to be portable so that expensive and sophisticated installations are not required in instances where the vessels are infrequently unloaded. The dust control hood makes use of the angle of repose of the solid discrete particles to be transferred in such manner that the drums do not overfill. Simultaneously air is drawn across the hood and the dust is collected in a suitable filter at a distance away from the loading area. Provision is also made for separation and collection of dust from pyrophoric materials utilizing an inert gas rather than air as the carrier medium.

  • Patent number: 4160806
Abstract: A mobile catalyst treatment unit and process of operating same involves a closed gas processing loop supported on a normally mobile carrier such as a flat truck bed or trailer which is connectable with the inlet and outlet of a catalytic reactor. The normal process gas is cut off from the catalytic reactor so as to isolate the catalyst and to place the gas processing loop into communication with the reactor. Thereafter, the catalytic reactor can be purged of reducing gases and then treated with an oxidizing gas to burn off carbonaceous materials from the catalyst surface, in the process known as regeneration, or the catalyst can be treated with a reducing gas in the process known as reduction, or the catalyst can be heated for startup purposes, or cooled down for purposes of unloading or other mechanical work on the reactor or treated with other treatment gases such as hydrogen sulfide for sulfiding and the like.
