  • Patent number: 9570277
Abstract: A system and method for matrix assisted laser desorption time-of-flight (MALDI-TOF) mass spectrometry. A method for MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry includes initiating a spectral analysis of a sample on a MALDI-TOF spectrometer. The sample is ionized, and a first ion spectrum is detected and stored. Thereafter, the spectrometer is reset, and the ionizing, detecting, storing, and resetting are repeated until a predetermined plurality of spectra of the sample is acquired.

  • Publication number: 20160376746
Abstract: A backside coated fabric includes a fabric substrate having a front side (face) and a back side. A water permeable spacer layer is applied to the back side of the fabric substrate. The water permeable spacer layer allows penetration of water into its matrix when hydrostatic water pressure is applied to the face of the fabric substrate. The water permeable spacer layer provides a smooth coating surface onto which subsequent water impermeable barrier layers can be applied creating a physical separating layer between the fabric substrate and the water impermeable barrier layer. A water impermeable barrier layer is disposed over the water permeable spacer layer to provide an impermeable water barrier layer that does not allow penetration of water through the coated fabric when hydrostatic water pressure is applied to the face of the fabric construction.

  • Patent number: 6230072
Abstract: The Boiler Automated Welding System (BAWS) is an automatic welding system for repair of worn boiler tubes in cyclone boilers. Repair of these tubes is essential for extending the life of this component used within electrical power plants. The BAWS utilizes: 1) a multiaxis positioner which forms the required cylindrical coordinate motion system, 2) a tube tracking systems for determination of motion paths during welding, 3) a two axis gimbaled welding torch holder for orientation of the welds relative to the motion path, 4) an integrated welding system and 5) a computer controller which coordinates these devices in a logical method. The BAWS multiaxis positioner allows for orientation of the system within the cyclone boiler to take advantage of the symmetry of the tube layout (cylindrical coordinates). The positioner allows each individual tube to be scanned and a weld path determined using a laser scanning device.

  • Patent number: 4751994
Abstract: A coin-controlled atomizer dispensing system is actuated entirely by compressed air or gas. At the conclusion of an operating cycle a cylinder is charged with liquid to be dispensed. The next operating cycle is initiated by inserting a coin which momentarily opens an air valve. A charge of compressed air and a charge of liquid are simultaneously fed to an atomizer nozzle until the charge of liquid in the cylinder has been completely dispensed whereupon the compressed air is cut off and the cycle is terminated by re-charging the cylinder with the next charge of liquid to be dispensed.

  • Patent number: 4611732
Abstract: Measured quantities of liquid, such as suntan oil or lotion, are dispensed to a user upon insertion of one or more coins into a coin-controlled timer. The coin-controlled timer, such as a timer-relay, applies electrical current to control a valve-controlled air supply to an atomizing nozzle. The timer system further controls the liquid supply by utilizing the air supply to actuate air valves.
