  • Patent number: 6059134
Abstract: A closure is provided with a thread configuration adapted for snap-on or screw-on application to a container neck finish. Preferably the closure and neck finish contain eight or nine mating continuous or discontinuous threads for this purpose. The present invention preferably provides at least one annular sealing bead depending from the outer surface of the closure valve which are compressed against the inner surface of the container neck to form a seal as the closure is snapped onto the container neck. Optionally, sealing engagement between the closure and the mating portions of the exterior wall of the container neck may be further improved by including one or more annular sealing beads on the interior surface of the closure depending annular skirt.

  • Patent number: 5799604
Abstract: A new boat hull support structure is provided in which a chevron rib support structure is used throughout the hull of an aluminum boat. This rib structure provides superior resiliency due to the increase of surface area contact between the boat hull and support ribs. The support ribs are constructed from a plurality of V-shaped ribs, having summit sections and trailing ends connected to transverse braces. The ribs are riveted to the hull, with each successive rib connected to the preceding rib at a point in the forward one quarter of the preceding rib and the center of the transverse brace through a connector plate. A continuous triangular structure is provided which distributes impact loading across the width, as well as, the length of the structure.

  • Patent number: 4532559
Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed for reading phase encoded digital data from a nine-track magnetic tape which apparatus includes timing circuitry for deriving a clock signal from the recorded data. A portion of the timing circuitry is associated with each track on the tape and automatically accommodates, without generating errors, phase changes in the derived clock signal in that track caused by speed variations in the magnetic tape transport and due to bit shifts caused by certain data patterns.Tape transport speed variations are sensed and the derived clock rate is corrected by a digital phase-locked loop which uses a counter that is clocked at a constant rate to determine the timing "window" during which the circuitry looks for signal transitions on the magnetic tape. A running average of the count remaining in the counter at the time when a transition actually occurs is used to adjust the counter starting value until equilibrium is established.
