  • Publication number: 20010027609
Abstract: A shaving cutter (111) comprises a skin-engaging surface (116) having both a convex elliptic region (116a) and a hyperbolic region (116b). The elliptic region merges with the hyperbolic region along a parabolic transition region (117). Preferably, at least one of the surface regions is perforate. In addition, a concave parabolic skirt region (114) may depend from the hyperbolic region, while a convex parabolic skirt region (115) depends from the elliptic region. Methods of manufacturing the shaving cutter are also described.

  • Patent number: 4797997
Abstract: In a twin head dry shaver, the shaver heads are carried at the upper end of a four-bar mounting linkage comprising vertical side members 1A, 1B and bell crank links 2, 3 pivotally connected to the side members at points 7, 8 and 9, 11. The links are pivotally connected to the frame by pivot pins 4 and 6 set above and mid-way between the connections to the side members, thus rendering the heads highly sensitive to cut of balance forces acting on the heads so that they may move vertically, relative to each other to restore the balance.

  • Patent number: 4575941
Abstract: An inner cutter for a dry shaver is formed from a tube of hardenable steel which is slotted transversely to form a series of bridge members on which individual teeth are formed by shallow annular grooves which locally reduce the thickness of the bridge members.

  • Patent number: 4514618
Abstract: An axially compact hairdryer includes a cylindrical housing having an air inlet and an air outlet at opposite ends thereof. An electric motor is centrally mounted within the housing by a pair of spaced apart support grates secured to the housing perpendicular to the air flow and a cylindrical heating element support body is carried by the support grates and located in concentric spaced relation between the housing and the motor. The heating element is wound about the support element. A fan is operatively connected to the motor for moving air from the inlet to the outlet over the heating element. Air directing vanes are attached to one of the support grates between the motor and the fan.

  • Patent number: 4362174
Abstract: A toothbrush system comprises a dispensing container for a number of exchangeable toothbrush heads engageable in turn with a common handle which can be firmly engaged with an individual head while the head is held in the container. The container is further provided with a special chamber adapted for receiving the head and disengaging the head from the handle.

  • Patent number: 4300280
Abstract: An axially compact hair dryer includes a cylindrical outer housing 1, an air outlet 2 at one end of the housing, an air inlet grate 3 at the other end, an electric motor 4 centrally mounted within the housing and driving a blower fan 5, and a generally cylindrical electric heating element 7 disposed in the otherwise wasted annular space between the motor and the housing.

  • Patent number: 4292737
Abstract: A dry shaver has a reciprocating inner cutter (9) co-operating with an arched flexible foil (8) of which the foil is fastened at its edges to a base member (7) and the inner cutter is pressed against the foil by springs which act between the inner cutter and the base member. The above mentioned parts form a cutting unit which is detachably mounted on the casing through the intermediary of spring loaded retainers (18) which permit movement of the cutting unit towards and away from the casing. The resilient force applied through the retainer is substantially less than that of the springs acting on the inner cutter, so as to permit displacement of the cutting unit under the forces encountered during shaving without deflection of the inner cutter springs.

  • Patent number: 3933276
Abstract: A dispenser for use in dispensing a product in heated condition from a pressurized container. The dispenser includes a main housing for removably receiving and holding the container and a heat exchanger assembly mounted in the main housing and spaced apart from the container. The heat exchanger assembly comprises a cup-like mass of a heat conductive material and includes an elongated passageway in its wall of a depth substantially equal to that of the wall and extending from the inlet to the outlet of the heat exchanger assembly. The product is directed in a single predetermined direction through the elongated passageway from the inlet to the outlet of the heat exchanger assembly. Further, an electrical heater is disposed along the inner wall of the cup-like mass and a circuit for connecting the heater to a source of power is provided.
