Publication number: 20240120415Abstract: Technologies for a field effect transistor (FET) with a ferroelectric gate dielectric are disclosed. In an illustrative embodiment, a perovskite stack is grown on a buffer layer as part of manufacturing a transistor. The perovskite stack includes one or more doped semiconductor layers alternating with other lattice-matched layers. Growing the doped semiconductor layers on lattice-matched layers can improve the quality of the doped semiconductor layers. The lattice-matched layers can be etched away, leaving the doped semiconductor layers as fins for a ribbon FET. A ferroelectric layer can be conformally grown on the fins, creating a high-quality ferroelectric layer above and below the fins. A gate can then be grown on the ferroelectric layer.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 1, 2022Publication date: April 11, 2024Applicant: Intel CorporationInventors: Scott B. Publication number: 20160203160Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide systems and methods for a self-describing tape that allow files stored on a tape according to a tape file system to be presented in a similar manner (e.g., to an operating system, to a network file system interface) by different instances of a second type of file system (e.g., a non-tape file system). This can include, for example, allowing a file system of the second type to consistently present files over a network file system interface as being available at the same directory path location, according to the same permissions.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 17, 2016Publication date: July 14, 2016Inventors: Robert C. Sims, William H. Moody, II, Brian J. Bianchi, Charles C. Young, Jeffrey R. Stripling, Gary McElroy

Publication number: 20030059839Abstract: A method is described for the detection, either qualitatively or quantitatively, of gastrointestinal microorganisms in samples, preferably fecal samples, using immunoassays, preferably electrochemiluminescence (ECL) immunoassays. The methods involve detection without the conventional processing steps typically required for such detection (e.g., lysing, enrichment, separation, or purification). The method comprises dilution of the sample thought to contain a specific microorganism, inactivation (e.g., heat inactivation) of the diluted sample, removal of solids from the inactivated diluted sample, and detection of the pathogen in the inactivated diluted sample, by conducting an electrochemiluminescence assay for a bound complex of antibody and antigenic derivative, thereby detecting and/or presumptively identifying the microorganism in the sample.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 21, 2002Publication date: March 27, 2003Inventors: Richard J. Patent number: 5375617Abstract: An override control system for an automatic sprinkler system of the type having a control box with a timer for turning on and off at least one sprinkler valve, each sprinkler valve having a valve line which connects to a common line. The override control system includes a probe assembly, having a probe support, a probe having spaced apart electrically conductive members supported by the probe support, and a removable reservoir connectable to the probe support for containing the probe for above ground support while the probe assembly is being used above the ground. The reservoir is removable so that the electrically conductive members are in direct contact with ground dirt when the reservoir is removed and the members are positioned beneath the ground. An electrical circuit is positioned between each valve line and the common line.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 1994Date of Patent: December 27, 1994Inventor: Charles C. Young

Patent number: 5289094Abstract: An airflow register for an air conditioning system for an enclosure such as room within a house or an office within a building. The register includes a series of louvers which can be located in either an open position or a closed position. The open position permits air to flow through the register and the closed position prevents air from flowing through the register. Louvers are to be movable by a motor with this motor being operated by a light sensor mounted on the exterior surface of the register. Upon an observable lightened environment being detected by the light sensor, the motor is activated which will locate the louvers in the open position. Upon an observable darkened condition being sensed by the light sensor, the motor is activated which will locate the louvers in the closed position. A flow limiter may be used to keep the louvers slightly open when in the closed position to have some heated air enter the room when the ambient temperature is severely cold.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 1993Date of Patent: February 22, 1994Inventor: Charles C.
