  • Patent number: 8353502
Abstract: According to one embodiment, an apparatus for tilting objects includes a lower portion which comprises at least one foot plate and at least three supporting walls. A height of the top of the lower portion is about the height of a supporting structure. The apparatus also includes an upper portion which comprises a substantially flat surface and at least one connector for coupling a node carrier to the upper portion. The upper portion is coupled to the lower portion, and the upper portion tilts relative to the lower portion between an angle about horizontal to an angle about vertical.

  • Patent number: 5745947
Abstract: A debris collection vehicle (1) having an offset cab (12) adjacent to a conveyor belt (61) which transports collected debris to a hopper (59). Rows of resilient fingers (51) are mounted on a collector drum (36), the conveyor (61) and on curb brushes (22, 24). The orientation of the collector (36) may be varied with respect to the lower drum (57) supporting the conveyor belt (61) in order to permit the reliable entrainment of various sized and shaped objects without fouling. The collector drum (36) is biased by a spring (192) to facilitate clearance of obstacles or oversized debris. A front deflection bar (229) is mounted adjacent to the collector drum (36) to direct debris toward the lower support (56) of the conveyor belt (61). A rear deflection bar (239) is mounted adjacent to the lower conveyor support (56) to direct debris toward the upper surface of the conveyor belt (61).

  • Patent number: 4120986
Abstract: A whole egg replacer is prepared by combining non-elastic protein material, oil and salt and heating at a low simmering temperature, adding a mild acid to the foregoing and continuing heating for a period of time sufficient to bring out flavor characteristics, adding water and vegetables and boiling, adding additional water and non-elastic protein material, continuing boiling, adding a thickening agent, continuing boiling and then drying to obtain a material of high protein content.

  • Patent number: 4045787
Abstract: Sensors, or transducers, which utilize elongated magnetically saturable tubes with sense lines that run through the tubes for simultaneous sensing of a plurality of parameters are disclosed. One version involves a single sensing element which has a first pair of diametrically disposed magnetic poles responsive to one condition that is positioned adjacent to one end of the tube and a second pair of diametrically disposed magnets responsive to another condition that is positioned adjacent to the other end of the tube. Another version involves two elements which have temperature vs. inductance characteristics which intersect, and a pair of diametrically disposed magnets responsive to another condition positioned adjacent the two elements.

  • Patent number: 4019855
Abstract: Disclosed is a switch structure for use in a gas-fired appliance. The switch is simultaneously operated by rotation of a gas valve on an appliance such as a cooking stove. The switch has a semi-circular cam body disposed within a housing. The cam body is secured to the stem of the gas valve for rotation therewith. An arcuately extending cam guide is located on the periphery of the body and extends transversely of the axis of rotation. A cam lobe is also provided on the cam body immediately adjacent the cam guide and only at one side thereof. A flexible wire contact element is engagable with the cam guide and is actuated by the cam lobe to make electrical contact with a stationary contact element when the cam body is rotated in one direction. The flexible wire contact is engagable with the cam guide and directed away from the cam lobe to avoid electrical connection when the cam body is rotated in the opposite direction, during, for example, turning off and/or adjusting the level of the flame of the gas burner.
