  • Publication number: 20170313634
Abstract: The selective oligomerization of ethylene to produce a mixture comprising octene and hexene is conducted in the presence of a catalyst system comprising a source of chromium; two different P—N—P ligands and an activator. The phosphorus atoms of both ligands have ortho-fluoro phenyl substituents. The nitrogen atom of the first ligand has an isopropyl substituent. The nitrogen of the second ligand has a larger/bulkier hydrocarbyl substituent on the N atom. The hexene produced by the process of this invention has very high alpha selectivity.

  • Publication number: 20170286091
Abstract: One embodiment relates to an apparatus, comprising logic, at least partially incorporated into hardware, to receive, by a primary communication device, an update image associated with a smart device, and initiate sending of the update image to the smart device, wherein a bootloader of the smart device is configured to update a memory of the smart device with the update image. The logic is further to determine whether the updating of the memory of the smart device with the update image has been interrupted, and responsive to determining that the updating of the memory of the smart device with the update image has been interrupted, send a first message to the smart device to instruct the bootloader of the smart device to resume updating of the memory of the smart device.

  • Publication number: 20170289738
Abstract: One embodiment relates to an apparatus, comprising logic, at least partially incorporated into hardware, to: receive first sensor data associated with a first sensor of a first smart device; determine a first reliability factor associated with the first sensor data; receive second sensor data associated with a second sensor of a second smart device; and determine a second reliability factor associated with the second sensor data. The logic is further to determine a sensor data reporting plan based upon the first reliability factor and the second reliability factor, the sensor data reporting plan indicating whether each of the first sensor and the second sensor are to subsequently send their respective sensor data to a primary communication device.

  • Publication number: 20170223499
Abstract: A system and a plurality of methods for location detection are disclosed. In some cases, the user's present location is represented by a circle, having a center and a radius, where the radius is indicative of the accuracy of the present location. The desired destination location, or geofence, is also defined as a circle, having a center and a radius. The various methods disclosed are used to determine when a user has entered or exited the geofence. In some embodiments, these methods attempt to minimize power consumption or another parameter. In another embodiment, the methods attempt to achieve the highest degree of accuracy possible or required for the task.

  • Publication number: 20160130927
Abstract: Methods, apparatus and products for separating oil and mud filtrate down hole and production of each to the surface via separate tubing, that includes custom engineered drill pipe for which two types of openings called ports have been cut or drilled: production ports and isolation ports. The production port produces formation fluid (normally hydrocarbons) from a perforation. In one non-limiting embodiment, a tube is welded to the inside of the casing at each production port to transmit the formation fluid to the top of the drill pipe section where it is attached to a custom engineered casing collar (described below) designed to allow flow to the next drill pipe section of the device. The isolation port produces mud filtrate from the adjacent borehole wall exterior to the casing, and these isolation ports are arranged in a pattern around each production port to keep mud filtrate in the invaded zone from reaching the production port.

  • Publication number: 20160047679
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide techniques and configurations for an apparatus to reduce sensor power consumption, in particular, through predictive data measurements by one or more sensors. In one instance, the apparatus may include one or more sensors and a sensor management module coupled with the sensors and configured to cause the sensors to initiate measurements of data indicative of a process in a first data measurement mode, determine a pattern of events comprising the process based on a portion of the measurements collected by the sensors in the first data measurement mode over a time period, and initiate measurements of the data by the one or more sensors in a second data measurement mode. The second data measurement mode may be based on the pattern of events comprising the process. The pattern may indicate a prediction of appearance of events in the process. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

  • Publication number: 20150355720
Abstract: Particular embodiments described herein provide for an electronic device that can be configured to determine that an unobtrusive gesture has been received on a first electronic device and send a signal to a second electronic device in response to the unobtrusive gesture. The first electronic device can also be configured to receive a signal from the second electronic device, determine an unobtrusive output in response to the signal, and generate an unobtrusive notification in response to the received signal. In an example, the first electronic device is a part of jewelry worn by a user.

  • Patent number: 9038778
Abstract: An upright adaptor for a ladder tree stand converts that ladder tree stand into an upright tree stand. The adaptor includes a ladder stand base support which is attachable to the base of a tree and which receives the lower end of the ladder stand. A speed lock assembly is part of the upright adaptor and is attachable to an upper portion of the ladder tree stand. It includes a self-tapping screw and a double-acting ratchet wrench which is operable by a person standing on the ground once the ladder tree stand has been erected.

  • Patent number: 8695762
Abstract: An upright tree stand includes a base pole section with a support pad, an intermediate pole section or sections, a lowermost one of which is connected to the base pole section by a knuckle hinge, and a top pole section. The top pole section is provided with a top securement assembly which utilizes a self-tapping screw and a remotely operable, dual-action ratchet wrench. The base pole section is initially secured to a tree. The intermediate pole section or sections and the top pole section are then swung, about the knuckle hinge, into an upright position. This movement is accomplished with sufficient force to embed the tip of the self-tapping screw into the tree. Operation of the dual-action ratchet wrench, remotely from the ground, will accomplish the positive securement of the top of the upright tree stand to the tree while the user remains safely on the ground.
