  • Patent number: 11934740
Abstract: Methods, systems and apparatus for associating electronic devices together based on received audio commands are described. Methods for associating an audio-controlled device with a physically separate display screen device such that information responses can then be provided in both audio and graphic formats using the two devices in conjunction with each other are described. The audio-controlled device can receive audio commands that can be analyzed to determine the author, which can then be used to further streamline the association operation.

  • Patent number: 8389948
Abstract: An Aharonov-Bohm (AB) sensor is provided. The AB sensor includes a beam splitter configured to split a first electron beam into a first wave and a second wave. The beam splitter is configured to direct the first wave along a first path through a field-free cage. A phase of the first wave is configured to shift in response to a vector potential of a signal. The vector potential is present within the field-free cage. The AB sensor includes a beam combiner configured to combine the phase shifted first wave with the second wave to generate a second electron beam, which is modulated based on the phase shift of the first wave. • Publication number: 20110226104
Abstract: A method and apparatus for guiding a cutting tool. The apparatus comprises at least one elongate member having a first track extending longitudinally therealong and a first clamping member located at a first end of a first elongate member and extending perpendicularly thereto. The apparatus further includes a second clamping member slidably locatable along the first track. The second clamping member is adjustably securable within the first track so as to clamp a work piece between the first and second clamping member. The method comprises longitudinally connecting the first and second elongate members with a connection member, applying the first and second elongate members to a surface of the material and clamping the elongate member to the material at a position corresponding to a line to be cut in the material between the first clamping member and the second clamping member.

  • Patent number: 7945312
Abstract: A multisensor probe for continuous real-time tissue identification. The multisensor probe includes a tissue penetrating needle, a plurality of sensors useful in characterizing tissue and a position sensor to measure the depth of the needle into the tissue being diagnosed. The sensors include but are not limited to an optical scattering and absorption spectroscopy sensor, an optical coherence domain reflectometry sensor, an electrical impedance sensor, a temperature sensor, a pO2 sensor, a chemical sensor and other sensors useful in identifying tissue. The sensors may take the form of a plurality of optical fibers extending through said needle. A retractable sheath may be disposed around the distal section of the needle to protect the needle when not in use. The sheath retracts when the probe is inserted into tissue and the position of the sheath relative to the needle may be measured to determine the needle's depth. Systems and methods for tissue identification are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20090269135
Abstract: A method of forming a concrete block embedded with coquina stone comprising the steps of positioning a layer of sand on the bottom surface of a concrete block form, then positioning a layer of coquina stone above the layer of sand positioned on the bottom surface, then pouring concrete over the layer of sand and the layer of coquina stone, thereafter allowing the concrete to harden to form a concrete block which is then removed from the concrete block form.

  • Patent number: 7434020
Abstract: A data structure within a block of allocable memory of a memory structure such as a heap is used to store an overwrite detection pattern. When memory is passed back to the operation system for any reason (typically freeing the memory, reallocating a larger/smaller buffer, or querying the size of the allocation), the overwrite detection pattern is usually checked. If the overwrite pattern has been modified, an access violation can be forced.

  • Patent number: 7350045
Abstract: A data structure within a block of allocable memory of a memory structure such as a heap is used to identify the function that is responsible for causing memory problems such as random overwrites, buffer overruns, double or multiple “frees,” and the like. The data structure can use the return address of the function that allocates or frees the allocable memory block to identify the caller. An identifier for the function is generated and stored in the allocable memory block.
