Abstract: Disclosed is a spray package having a container body, an actuator, and a shroud between the container body and the actuator. The actuator has a nozzle, and is adjustable between a locked position and an unlocked position by rotation of the nozzle about the actuator's longitudinal axis. The unlocked position allows vertical movement of the actuator for dispensing product from the package, and the locked position prevents vertical movement of the actuator to prohibit dispensing of product from the package. The locked position simultaneously provides cooperation between the nozzle and an anti-clog member, connected to and extending above the shroud. The anti-clog member has a nozzle seal on its inside surface which inhibits clogging of product within and about the nozzle when the seal is in contact with the nozzle.

Abstract: A pouch package, containing a volatile solution-impregnated patch, is made of a peelable barrier film. The pouch envelops an absorbent substrate saturated preferably with bug repellent fluid. A PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive) coated backing film is laminated to the absorbent substrate. The backing film has a connecting portion which is peelably sealed to the inside of the pouch. When the pouch is peeled open, the PSA coated backing film is exposed and placed against a target surface, such as a patch wearer's clothing. Finally, the side of the pouch facing the absorbent substrate is peeled off the backing film connecting portion to expose the absorbent substrate. A key to functionality of the pouch package is differential adhesion. First, the pouch barrier film must be peelable from itself, yet it must not adhere to the pressure sensitive adhesive on the backing film. A release paper may be used to cover the PSA when peeling the pouch open.

Abstract: An individually packaged sanitary napkin having a cleansing wipe packaged therewith. The individually packaged sanitary napkin includes a wrapper that covers the sanitary napkin's adhesive fastener prior to use. The sanitary napkin wrapper can be provided with a flap or pouch for securing the used sanitary napkin for disposal. A number of alternative arrangements are disclosed for packaging the cleansing wipe with the wrapped sanitary napkin.

Abstract: A tissue package comprising a dispensing package and tissues. The dispensing package has a dispensing opening which constricts the tissues as they are withdrawn through the opening. The tissues are disposed in the dispensing package in a non-interleaved pattern. Each tissue is releasably attached to the adjacent tissue, so that upon withdrawal through the dispensing opening, the tissue pulls an adjacent tissue through the dispensing opening. Both reach-in and pop-up dispensing are possible.

Abstract: The present invention presents improved packages for single-use, disposable folded towels, and more particularly to single- and multi-towel packages which provide for readily grasping a defined portion of the towel upon opening the package and automatic unfolding of the towel upon removal from the package without a separate unfolding step requiring additional consumer action. Single-towel embodiments are disclosed which provide for complete unfolding of the towel by the use of: (a) an opening bearing a particular geometrical relationship to the dimensions of the folded towel; or (b) a flexible bar within the package to provide unfolding of the towel in the longitudinal direction. A multi-towel embodiment which provides for the advantageous dispensing features and convenience of an improved single-towel package while providing the added capability of multi-towel transportation is also disclosed.

Abstract: A personal care convenience kit is disclosed which dispenses different personal hygiene components in a sequential, one at a time fashion through a single dispensing opening. The convenience kit includes a compliant package having a first dispensing opening, and at least two different personal hygiene components ordered with respect to the first dispensing opening. The compliant package can include an auxiliary dispensing opening for dispensing at least one of the different components out of sequence.

Abstract: A package having means for producing an audible signal, such as a "click", which signals the consumer as soon as a predetermined level of engagement between a container and a closure has been achieved. Normally the desired level of engagement establishes some type of seal between the package components which contact one another. In a particularly preferred embodiment, a semi-rigid polymeric container having a discharge orifice, a sealing member preferably comprising a filter support member secured across the discharge orifice of the container and a closure having attachment means capable of forming a substantially gas-tight atmospheric seal between all three components upon initial closing of the package to the atmosphere is provided. The container and closure are further provided with interfering projections, at least one of which is resiliently deformable, which will contact one another only after the sealing member has been removed from the package and discarded and the closure reapplied to the container.

Abstract: A sealed, self-expanding, reclosable, flexible pouch having a pair of extensible stays located in the throat area of the pouch. The extensible stays are biased toward a circular configuration but are initially held substantially flat in a stressed condition by the pouch's sealed top portion. When the pouch's top portion is removed, the extensible stays expand to their relaxed expanded configuration and thereby expand and open the throat area of the pouch. An inwardly oriented male securement means is attached to one extensible stay and extends along the throat area of the pouch. A complementary inwardly oriented female securement means is attached to the other of the opposing extensible stays and extends along the throat area of pouch. The complementary male and female securement means permits the throat area of the pouch to be sufficiently closed after initial opening, thereby constraining the pouch's contents.
