  • Patent number: 12632601
Abstract: The embodiments set forth techniques for managing operational aspects of a web browser application relative to user privacy considerations. More particularly, the described embodiments provide techniques for mitigating webpage loading issues associated with a web browser application that implements privacy protection measures. The mitigation techniques include detecting a webpage loading issue, displaying a prompt that enables the webpage to be reloaded with reduced privacy protection measures, and reloading the webpage with the reduced privacy protection measures. The described embodiments also provide techniques for identifying conditions under which a web browser should be locked in association with providing private web browsing functionalities, locking the web browser under such conditions, and permitting the web browser to be unlocked when an acceptable authentication is performed.

  • Publication number: 20250335067
Abstract: A computer system displays a first user interface for a web browser application that includes a user-selectable option and detects a user input selecting the user-selectable option. The computer system, in response to detecting the user input: in accordance with a determination that content of the first user interface is not associated with related content, displays a first menu for the web browser application that includes a first plurality of options for interacting with the web browser application. The computer system, in accordance with a determination that content of the first user interface is associated with related content, displays a second menu for the web browser application that includes concurrent display of: a second plurality of options for interacting with the web browser application; and a first user interface element for a first type of related content that is related to the content of the first user interface.

  • Publication number: 20230393710
Abstract: In one example method, a shared web-browser method is performed at a first electronic device with a display generation component. In this example, the first electronic device is associated with a first user account, and is also in communication with a second electronic device that is associated with a second user account. The method comprises displaying, via the display generation component, a web-browser user interface including one or more tabs shared with the second electronic device. Each tab of the one or more tabs is associated with a respective webpage. The method also includes, receiving, at the first electronic device, information indicating that a tab group comprising one or more tabs has been interacted with at the second electronic device associated with the second user account. The method further comprises, indicating, at the first electronic device, that the tab group has been interacted with at the second electronic device.

  • Publication number: 20230367452
Abstract: While a first notification mode is active for the computer system and while the computer system is in a low power state, a computer system detects a first request to wake the computer system. In response, the computer system displays a first wake screen user interface with a first background image. While displaying the first wake screen user interface, the computer system detects a request to switch from the first notification mode to a second notification mode. In response, the computer system switches from the first notification mode to the second notification mode at the computer system. While the second notification mode is active for the computer system and while the computer system is in the low power state, the computer systems detects a second request to wake the computer system. In response the computer system displays a second wake screen user interface with a second background image.

  • Patent number: 11653324
Abstract: A location control subsystem is provided that allows a user of an electronic device to define the granularity used to provide location coarseness. A user can define a coarse location granularity for an application. When a coarse device location is reported to an application, the location can be provided with at least a minimum degree of variable specificity based on the selected location coarseness. When an application is granted a coarse location, the application is to interpret the provided location indicating that the user may be anywhere within a geographic region of variable specificity, as opposed to being close to a center point with a horizontal accuracy based on the precision of the location fix, as when a fine granularity location is provided. In addition to reducing the spatial resolution of the location that is reported to the application, the temporal resolution may also be reduced.
