  • Patent number: 6796173
Abstract: A fuel flowmeter has a flowmeter with rotating impellers with meshed lobes rotatable in partially cylindrical housings joined in a case having an inlet at one side and an outlet at an opposite side. Fuel moves in the inlet filling voids between lobes in both impellers and moves cylindrically around opposite partially cylindrical walls and turning the impellers until reaching the outlet. Flow conditioners in the inlet and outlet allows smooth flow, reducing turbulence and promoting lamellar flow into and out of the case. One of the rotors may have a magnetic marker. A transmitter with a Hall effect sensor is mounted on the case. A signal conditioning software is connected to the Hall effect sensor for adjusted transmitted information according to measured pulse rate and a standard flow.

  • Patent number: 5415041
Abstract: A high volume, low RPM, low noise, low wear and long life flowmeter uses inter-engaging double helical four-lobe rotors. The meter is made with ball bearings or bearingless. The double helical nature of the teeth provides no axial loads and no side loads or end loads, and uses true gear designs with very large pockets. A high contact ratio is provided with only four teeth, reducing and eliminating noise and pulsing output, increasing working volume and decreasing speed and wear.

  • Patent number: 5325715
Abstract: A fluid volumetric flowmeter has a wall plate forming a chamber and a fluid inlet, and a fluid outlet. Two rotors positioned within the chamber have intermeshing lobes and valleys for turning in the chamber as fluid flows from the inlet through the chamber to the outlet. An indicator housing is connected to the chamber. A response shaft is rotationally mounted in the housing, and an encoder disk rotates with the shaft. A first coupling is mounted on the rotor. A second coupling is mounted on the shaft for rotating the second coupling, the shaft, and the encoder disk in response to rotation of the rotors.

  • Patent number: 5259244
Abstract: A flowmeter has two moving parts, a rotor with a cylindrical core and the radially extending sinusoidal curving vane. A slider has a gate opening which fits on the vane for reciprocating axially as the rotor turns. The slider and rotor are held within a cavity and slider recess within a case. Fluid is admitted through an inlet opening on one side of the slider and is exhausted through an outlet opening on the other side of the slider. A magnetic pickup on the slider indicates the movements of the slider, and hence the rotation of the rotor and the volume of fluid flowing through the meter.

  • Patent number: 5027653
Abstract: A flowmeter has meshing rotors mounted on shafts. The bores of the rotors have plural longitudinally extending grooves which flow materials through the grooves and out of the bores to promote long, accurate running of the flowmeters. Radial faces of counterbores and end faces and lands of the rotor are provided with radial extensions of the axially extending grooves to provide flow of the material through the grooves.

  • Patent number: 4996888
Abstract: A fluid volumetric flowmeter has a wall plate forming a chamber and a fluid inlet, and a fluid outlet. Two rotors positioned within the chamber have intermeshing lobes and valleys for turning in the chamber as fluid flows from the inlet through the chamber to the outlet. At least one of the rotors has a radial recess for receiving a magnet. A shaft mount is connected to the wall plate. A response shaft is rotationally mounted in the shaft mount, and an indicator rotates with the shaft. A first magnetic coupling is mounted in the rotor recess. A second magnetic coupling is mounted on the shaft within the rotor hub and within the first magnetic coupling for rotating the second magnetic coupling, the shaft, and the indicator in response to rotation of the rotors. First paired coin-shaped magnets are aligned on magnetic axes extending diametrically through the rotor axis. Second grouped coin-shaped magnets are aligned on the single magnetic axis within the rotor hub.

  • Patent number: 4911010
Abstract: A fluid volumetric flowmeter has a casing forming a chamber, a fluid inlet, and a fluid outlet communicating with the chamber. Two rotors positioned within the chamber have intermeshing lobes and valleys for turning in the chamber as fluid flows from the inlet through the chamber to the outlet. At least one of the rotors has a facial recess for receiving a magnet. A shaft mount is connected to a wall of the casing. A response shaft is rotationally mounted in the shaft mount. An indicator connected to the shaft rotates with the shaft. A first magnetic coupling is mounted in the rotor recess of the rotor. A second magnetic coupling is mounted on the shaft near the first magnetic coupling for rotating the second magnetic coupling, the shaft, and the indicator in response to rotation of the rotors.
