  • Patent number: 6293879
Abstract: A flying toy of the boomerang type utilizing circular airfoils in the form of disks comprising a main disk (10) with a plurality of control disks (12) or (36) affixed to its perimeter at their perimeters, sufficient to provide rigidity and lying in a generally common plane forming a homogeneous one-piece unit. When thrown overhand so as to rotate through the air the combination of disks creates lift throughout 360° of boomerang's rotation. The result is a safer, more balanced and stable boomerang that is easy to throw and catch. The specific arrangement of disks provides a profile suggestive of and suitable for application of a variety of cartoon faces such as mice, dogs or bears making a desirable wall hanging when not in use.

  • Patent number: 5078171
Abstract: An enclosure for selectively cooperating with embedded securing bars prevents unauthorized access to above ground portions or underground piping networks. The enclosure employs a pivot channel and a retainer channel separated by a distance substantially equal to the distance separating the securing bars. The pivot channel and the retainer channel are configured so as to require rotational and horizontal motion of the enclosure so as to operatively disposed the enclosure relative to the securing bars. The locking member of the enclosure is used to secure a securing bar within the retainer channel so as to prevent rotation of the enclosure relative to either securing bar.

  • Patent number: 4339662
Abstract: A safety selector switch for preventing accidental energization of an eleical circuit. A plurality of circular discs, each having a cut-out portion in its periphery, are mounted on a shaft of an electrical component, such as a rotary switch. A second shaft is provided which is translatable in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the shaft of the electrical component, and an arm is provided on said second shaft and is selectively positionable in each cut-out portion of said circular discs to limit rotation of the shaft of the electrical component. Continued rotation of the shaft of the electrical component can only be made by alternately rotating said shaft of said electrical component and translating said second shaft to move said arm to a cut-out portion of an adjacent annular disc. One of said circular discs is of greater diameter than the remaining discs and is provided with a second cut-out portion to form a passageway for light.

  • Patent number: 4306821
Abstract: The system for the restoring and reconditioning structural pile provides an outer form which is attachable to a portion of a piling which has been eroded or corroded and has lost some of its thickness and thus its overall strength. A diameter building filler is placed into an intraform space between the form and the piling, the filler providing a protective and structural coating to that portion of the piling where corrosion or damage has taken place. In the preferred embodiment the filler is a setting material such as a suitable epoxy.

  • Patent number: 4262889
Abstract: An engine mount includes an upper and lower bracket bonded together by an elastomeric block which is made from a rubber material embedded with parallel graphite fibers. The elastomeric block has a higher shear strength in one horizontal direction as compared to a shear strength in its transverse horizontal direction to form an engine mount that has different shear strengths along different horizontal axes.
