  • Publication number: 20190289295
Abstract: An apparatus for encoding image data, the image data being decomposed into a plurality of different subbands, each subband having a plurality of coefficients, wherein a precinct has different sets of coefficients from different subbands, wherein two sets of coefficients of a first precinct belong to a first spatial region of an image represented by the image data, the apparatus having: a processor for determining, for each group of coefficients within a set, a greatest coded line index (GCLI); an encoder for encoding the greatest coded line indices associated with a first set of the first precinct in accordance with a first encoding mode, and for encoding the greatest coded line indices associated with a second set of the first precinct in accordance with a second encoding mode, the second encoding mode being different from the first encoding mode; and an output interface for outputting an encoded image signal having data on the encoded greatest coded line indices and data on the coefficients.

  • Publication number: 20190197250
Abstract: A system and method for managing and controlling data licenses for information assets. An information asset is stored in a repository, and registered in a catalog for the repository. A data license is associated with the information asset in the catalog, wherein the data license is stored as part of the information asset's metadata in the catalog. Access to the information asset stored in the repository is controlled based on the data license. A new data license is automatically created for a new information asset derived from an existing information asset, wherein the new data license is derived from an existing data license for the existing information asset. A lineage graph of the information asset is automatically created for audit purposes, to show that the information asset has been accessed in compliance with the data license.

  • Patent number: 10212421
Abstract: The invention provides a method and device for compressing a sequence of signed coefficients wherein coefficients are grouped, for each group, the greatest coded line index (GCLI) is determined, a quantization level t is applied and only the GCLI-t lowest weight bits of the coefficients are copied into the output stream together with the value of the GCLI. According to the invention, sign bits are not coded for coefficient having a zero quantized value. The invention also provides a method for determining a data budget required for compressing a sequence of signed coefficients, in dependence of a quantization level, and a method for compressing an image within the limits of a given data budget constraint. The invention provides a compressed data set coding an image in an efficient way.

  • Patent number: 10194219
Abstract: The invention provides a method for mapping a data stream onto an SDI channel, said data stream comprising a sequence of m-bit words, a range of values from 0 to 2**n?1 and from 2**m?2**n to 2**m?1 being excluded values on said SDI channel. The method comprises the steps of grouping the words to be transmitted, detecting if at least one of the words of the group contains a number of MSB's equal to one, and then recoding these MSBs and adding a constant, in order that no excluded values are obtained. Supplementary bits signal groups that have been recoded.

  • Publication number: 20180195408
Abstract: A method and icing effects mitigation system are provided. The icing effects mitigation system includes a fluid duct configured to channel a first flow of fluid through the fluid duct from a duct opening to a rotatable member at least partially positioned within the fluid duct. The rotatable member includes a radially inner rotatable portion and a radially outer rotatable portion. The icing effects mitigation system also includes a duct member extending through the fluid duct in a direction approximately orthogonal to a direction of the first flow of fluid. The duct member is configured to channel a second flow of a second fluid therethrough that causes ice accreted on the duct member to shed on a trajectory that impacts the rotatable member at the radially inner portion.

  • Publication number: 20160224623
Abstract: Automatic workflow processing in a workflow processing computer system. A data management system support module receives a data management activity (DMA) description. A set of set references associated with the DMA is determined. Using the set of set references, a set of data sources associated with the set references is determined. The data sources is provided within a data management system. Using the set references and the data sources, it is determined whether the data management system includes infrastructure for accessing the set references and for accessing the data sources. If not, the infrastructure is automatically created from information in a metadata repository coupled to the data management system. References to set references and references to data sources in the data management activity description are replaced by references to the infrastructure. The data management activity description is delivered for execution by the data management system.
