  • Publication number: 20080127654
Abstract: A method and apparatus for unloading natural gas (NG), including gasifying liquid and/or compressed NG using the latent heat of water and propane, and/or storing liquid or compressed NG gas in a storage cavern system that utilizes a buffer layer to prevent hydrating the NG gas, the storage cavern system being configured such that the NG may be forced out of a first storage chamber by increasing the amount of brine in a second chamber to displace a buffer fluid located therein such that the displace buffer fluid enters the first storage chamber and displaces the NG, as well as the processes for compressing, chilling and/or liquefying quantities of LNG and transporting those volumes to markets for redelivery.

  • Publication number: 20080109841
Abstract: An interactive video player includes the capturing of one or more frames of active video. While the active video is displayed in a first or primary display, a captured frame may be displayed in a secondary display. In response to user input, one or more elements within the frame may be highlighted or otherwise designated. In a third display or portion of a visible screen, user input commands may provide for the input or retrieval of product information associated with the highlighted component. Therefore, in the display, the active video may be maintained, with a display of the captured frame and the display of the product information. Additionally, the product information may be additionally linked to the captured frame and/or the active video, such that if additional users view the active video, they may be able to view the product information.

  • Publication number: 20080109851
Abstract: A method and system are described for providing an interactive video player. The method may include, responsive to a first user input, generating a secondary display from a primary display, wherein the primary display is an active video and the secondary display is a frame captured from the primary display. The method may also include, responsive to a second user input, generating a tertiary display from the secondary display, said tertiary display including product information about at least one item shown in the secondary display.

  • Publication number: 20080091555
Abstract: A system and method for user generated content includes receiving a user-selected data field, which includes reference to a particular item or element to be displayed on a web portal. The system and method associates the data field with an electronic log, such as automatically generating an electronic log entry off of a template to include the received data field. The system and method thereby associates the electronic log with the registered user that provided the data field. The electronic log, which may be referenced by the user, is provided to a central log repository location, such that it is thereupon viewable through the web portal. The system and method associates the content element with a commercial vendor, which thereby allows for the purchase of the content element and subsequently through tracking the purchase element, the registered user may be given credit for any subsequent purchase.

  • Publication number: 20080030003
Abstract: An integrated multi-purpose deployment field system enables a user to build a plurality of field pieces of equipment for field use in recreation, rescue, medicine, military operations, disaster relief and non-motorized cargo hauling. The system includes assembling the field equipment from a plurality of interchangeable T-shaped load support components. Each load support component has a generally horizontal load support member which is configured to support a particular type of load in the field, and a generally vertically extending support strut which extends from a midsection of the horizontal load support member. A load support attachment, such as a wheel axle or a cross brace, engages with each horizontal load support member, and joins the horizontal support members so that the T-shaped load support components, vertical struts, and load support attachments form a load bearing structure when assembled.

  • Publication number: 20070029761
Abstract: A mission adaptable multi-purpose, collapsible portable cart/utility table, for use in emergency response and disaster situations, camping, hunting and other outdoors activities, which carries medical rescue carts, canoes, small boats, game, or hauled cargo by hand. It transports injured persons or cargo over long, rough terrain and it can broken down into a carrying position, by hand or by back. The cart has optional removable clamps for clamping a conventional transportable carrier, such as a stretcher or stokes-type rescue carrier bed, thereto. The objects being carried can be held by clamps, by fasteners, or through the use of insertions with longitudinally extending channels. It is collapsible, so that it can be disassembled and carried, and then reassembled at another destination along a wilderness journey.

  • Patent number: 6997302
Abstract: An escalator drive assembly includes a backup member (40) that facilitates controlling movement of the escalator (20) even when the normal drive assembly operation is interrupted. A backup member (40) in the form of a flange (42) is associated with a drive pulley (34) and normally rotates in unison with the drive pulley (34). When there is a failure in the normal operation of the drive mechanism, however, there is a resulting relative movement between the backup member (40) and the drive pulley (34). Such relative motion preferably activates a switch (80) that provides a signal that indicates a failure of the normal operation of the drive mechanism. The backup member (40) facilitates providing an indication of a failure and control over movement of the escalator (20) even when the normal drive assembly is not operating as intended.

  • Patent number: 6685004
Abstract: An escalator drive machine includes a motor output sheave connected to a drive motor through a belt reduction assembly including a main output sheave. A drive belt extends from the belt reduction assembly and is guided along a plurality of guide sheaves to engage the step chain and propel the escalator tread plates. In addition, by locating a pinch roller adjacent the handrail, the drive belt and handrail can be pinched together to provide a motive force to the handrail. The drive belt thereby synchronously drives the handrail. In another embodiment the drive machine includes a counter-rotating motor to drive a drive belt on each side of the escalator system.
