  • Patent number: 10776784
Abstract: A system and method for automatically comparing obtained wireless device location information from a wireless network and comparing that location with another independent source geographic location is provided. Location information is derived from two or more sources in a multiplicity of ways and a comparison is made within a Location Comparison Engine. The Location Comparison Engine makes use of databases that assist in resolving obtained raw positioning information and converting that positioning information into one or more formats for adequate location comparison. Results of location comparison are deduced to determine if the wireless device is in some proximity to some other activity source location. Other location information used for comparison may be obtained from a multiplicity of sources, such as another network based on some activity of wireless device user, another wireless device via a wireless network, or any system capable of providing location information to the Location Comparison Engine.

  • Patent number: 10324073
Abstract: Monitoring systems and apparatuses and methods for using same are generally described. A gas monitoring system may include a base component and a module component. The module may be configured to be operably coupled to the base component through corresponding interface connectors. The system may be monitor for gases and generate alarms relating thereto, when the module is connected to the base. The base and/or module may have limited or no functionality when disconnected from the module and/or base. The module may include components that typically have an increased potential for upgrades, replacement, maintenance, or other modifications. The base may include components that typically have a lower rate of being upgraded, replaced, or requiring maintenance. In this manner, high maintenance components may be arranged in a module that has a smaller and more portable form factor as compared to the base and the system overall.

  • Patent number: 9675799
Abstract: The present invention relates, generally, to scientific and medical system methods for diagnosis of implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) lead conductor anomalies, in particular conductor migration and externalization within an ICD implantable cardiac lead. The method uses an “imaginary” component of the high frequency transmission line impedance having certain spectral changes that correspond to movements of the conductor or an “imaginary impedance”. This allows the detection of conductor migration and small insulation failures.

  • Patent number: 9272150
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and apparatus for diagnosis of conductor anomalies, such as insulation failures, in an implantable medical device, such as an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), a pacemaker, or a neurostimulator. Insulation failures are detected and localized by identifying changes in electrical fields via surface (skin) potentials. Small variations in potential are detected along the course of the electrode near the site of insulation failure.

  • Patent number: 8812103
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for the diagnosis of conductor anomalies, such as an insulation failure resulting in a short circuit, in an implantable medical device, such as an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD). Upon determining if a specific defibrillation pathway is shorted, the method excludes the one electrode from the defibrillation circuit, delivering defibrillation current only between functioning defibrillation electrodes. Protection can be provided against a short in the right-ventricular coil-CAN defibrillation pathway of a pectoral, transvenous ICD with a dual-coil defibrillation lead. If a short caused by an in-pocket abrasion is present, the CAN is excluded from the defibrillation circuit, delivering defibrillation current only between the right-ventricular and superior vena cava defibrillation coils. Determination that the defibrillation pathway is shorted may be made by conventional low current measurements or delivery of high current extremely short test pulses.
