Publication number: 20230398631Abstract: An apparatus, and associated method, laser cuts self-wrapping, woven or braided split sleeves from a continuous feed of sleeve material by sweeping a laser beam across the continuously fed material. Instead of sweeping the laser beam straight across the material in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the material, the sweep path is angled to follow the feed rate of the material while the laser beam cuts through the material from one side to the other. Thus, a straight cut may be completed without stopping the feed. The apparatus includes a mandrel tor expanding the material before intersection with the laser beam to open a gap at the longitudinal split. The mandrel has a wedge-shaped tip with an end-surface profile that is at an oblique angle to the direction of motion of the material. The oblique angle at least approximately matches the sweep angle of the laser beam.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 14, 2021Publication date: December 14, 2023Applicant: Rofin-Sinar Technologies LLCInventors: Robert BASANESE, Charles DODSON, Phillip PALISE

Patent number: 8838540Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method for providing recognized offline modification of a virtual asset are provided. A virtual asset that includes parameters that each have intrinsic significance within a virtual environment defined exclusively by a central server is identified. Qualitative rules including characteristics of the parameters are defined. The virtual asset is stored on storage media offline from the central server. Proposed changes to at least one of the parameters of the virtual asset applied by a client application are maintained and are stored on the storage media The virtual asset is authenticated on behalf of the central server through an asset authority. Patent number: 7152378Abstract: The present invention relates to configurations of pre-cast panel forming systems and various components of the panel forming systems. In one embodiment, a bulkhead is provided wherein a cross-sectional support member is located at a point along the height dimension of the upstanding portion of the bulkhead so as to provide substantial resistance to reduction of the width dimension under significant panel forming pressure applied to one of the exterior faces of the upstanding walls. In accordance with 37 CFR 1.72(b), the purpose of this abstract is to enable the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the public generally to determine quickly from a cursory inspection the nature and gist of the technical disclosure. The abstract will not be used for interpreting the scope of the claims.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 2002Date of Patent: December 26, 2006Assignee: Fukuvi USA, Inc.Inventors: Kyozaburo Takagi, Gordon Charles Dodson

Patent number: 7134248Abstract: The present invention is directed to a pre-cast panel form insert used in precast construction. The insert comprises a substantially planar portion defining dimensions suitable to complement dimensions of a pre-cast panel form and a fluid diverting portion. The fluid diverting portion is configured to define a fluid-diverting recess in an edge face of a pre-cast panel bounded by a form including the form insert. The fluid diverting portion is configured such that said fluid diverting recess defines, a circular cross-sectional profile, or a multi-angular cross-sectional profile, that impedes the flow of water along said pre-cast panel edge face when said edge face assumes a substantially horizontal orientation.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2003Date of Patent: November 14, 2006Assignee: Fukuvi USA, Inc.Inventors: Kyozaburo Takagi, Gordon Charles Dodson
