  • Publication number: 20080155754
Abstract: An apparatus (10) for a craniosacral therapy technique is provided. The apparatus (10) is configured as a headrest for a human being to rest their head on. The apparatus (10) is comprised of a resilient monocoque structure having a sidewall made from a thermo-plastic elastomer. The apparatus (10) is comprised of a base portion (105), two semi-spherical shaped protuberances (120, 130) extending upward from the base portion (105), and a channel (125) formed between the two protuberances (120, 130). The adjacent protuberances (120, 130) put stabilizing bi-lateral pressure on the occipital region of the head to induce what is known as a “still point”. After a rest period of up to twenty minutes, the pressure on the occipital region is removed. The release of the apparatus (10) allows production of cerebrospinal fluids which then gently flushes these areas of tissue restrictions or adhesions thereby improving circulation and facilitating greater balance and function of the central nervous system.

  • Patent number: 7376831
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are directed towards parsing and selectively encrypting different portions of data in real-time, decrypting the encrypted data in real-time, and passing the data to a media player on a client computer or other network capable device. Data in a network packet may be parsed into payload and non-payload portions. The payload portion of the packet data may then be examined to determine whether a predefined type of the data is recognized. For example, in one embodiment, the predefined data type may be media content. If the payload portion is recognized as a predefined data type, then it may be selectively encrypted. The selectively encrypted payload portion and non-payload portion of the packet may then be combined, such that the non-payload portion may be employed by firewalls, proxies, and/or NATs to route the packet towards the client computer or other network capable device.

  • Publication number: 20070286420
Abstract: A network device and method are directed towards providing one time content encryption for Video on Demand (VOD) broadcast services and Networked Personal Video Recorders (NPVRs) using unique encryption keys. As content is received by the network device, it is determined whether the content is for broadcast distribution to a consumer and to be ingested into an NPVR/VOD server for possible unicast distribution. If the content is for both distributions, it is encrypted using at least one control word (CW) key. The encrypted content is then copied into at least two streams, with the CW being encrypted with at least two different keys, one for broadcast distribution, and one for NPVR Programs. One stream may then be ingested by the NPVR/VOD server, while the other stream may be broadcast to a consumer. The encryption keys may be provided through EMMs to a consumer based on a purchase.

The system (10) comprises a plurality of data acquisition units (14) for gathering geophysical data, each data acquisition unit (14) being connectable to at least one sensor (15) and being arranged, during use, to gather geophysical data from the at least one sensor (15). Each data acquisition unit (14) comprises time referencing means (48) arranged to generate time reference data usable to control the time at which samples of geophysical data are taken. The system (10) further comprises means for calculating spatial derivatives between samples associated with adjacent sensors (15) connected during use to the data acquisition units (14).

  • Patent number: 7110777
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to electronic position and location tracking of various items. More particularly, the present invention is useful for tracking of an individual's position and location. Data is received from both an external position locating apparatus and an accelerometer and is converted into both position and direction of travel information.

  • Patent number: 7058472
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for centralizing knowledge and improving programming for manufacturing a part. An embodiment includes a method for manufacturing the part. First, a model of the part is received. Next, a predetermined rule is retrieved from a computer readable medium having a plurality of predetermined rules. A feature of the geometric model is selected by evaluating the retrieved predetermined rule and a process is determined that is associated with the feature. Based on the process, computer code is generated to manufacture the part on a computer controlled machine.

  • Publication number: 20040087314
Abstract: An apparatus and method and provided for tracking the location and direction of an individual utilizing a direct radio frequency link between a mobile target and a mobile monitor. The apparatus and method utilize a mobile target device which may be affixed to an individual to be tracked utilizing a secure attachment mechanism. A mobile monitor device in bi-directional communication with the mobile target device is additionally provided. This radio frequency communication is encrypted in nature, thereby preventing unauthorized tracking of an individual by an non-intended third party. The mobile monitor device broadcasts the relative distance and direction between the mobile monitor device and mobile target device to a mobile monitor operator. A Bluetooth® enabled microprocessor may be utilized in transmitting and receiving this encrypted signal.

  • Patent number: 5649450
Abstract: A gauge assembly for measuring the level of a liquid product in a storage tank includes a float member that is constructed and arranged to float on the liquid product in the storage tank, a housing that is constructed and arranged to be mounted on an exterior of the storage tank and a drum that is mounted inside the housing for rotation about an axis. A filament is wound about the drum, and extends through an opening defined in the housing to an attachment with a float member. A spring is provided for biasing the drum in a first rotary direction that will wind the filament onto the drum, whereby the drum will tend to pull the float member toward the housing, keeping the filament taut. A clock-type face is mounted on the housing, and has distance indicia marked there around that is in a base-twelve numbering system to represent feet and inches, rather than hours and minutes. A small hand is mounted to traverse the clock face to represent feet, and is connected to the drum via a gear train.

  • Patent number: 3951216
Abstract: Feed frame assembly for supporting and feeding drill head which rotates drill rod about axis. Assembly includes spaced front and rear end members, laterally spaced longitudinal members and first and second hydraulic feed cylinders. Longitudinal members and feed cylinders extend between end members and are parallel to rod axis. Piston rods of feed cylinders have double-acting pistons cooperating with cylinder bodies to feed head along the piston rods. Stabilizer cylinders in longitudinal members force bearing pads against rock face to counteract the drilling forces. Head mounting means secures rigidly one side of drill head to first cylinder body, and secures releasably with latch opposite side of head to second cylinder body. When latch is released drill head can swing outwards about first piston rod, and when engaged mutual actuation of feed cylinders moves drill head along rods. With head swung out, first cylinder is hydraulically locked to divert fluid to second cylinder.
