  • Patent number: 5610706
Abstract: An analytical system for analyzing a liquid sample includes structure defining an analysis region with an inlet and an outlet, a polychromator system disposed in sensing relation to the analysis region, structure defining a sample inlet port, and structure connecting the sample inlet port to the inlet of the analysis region. The analysis region includes sample excitation apparatus with a pair of spaced metal electrodes, one of the electrodes having an upper surface in spaced juxtaposition to the other electrode and passage structure connected to the inlet of the analysis region. The one metal electrode is disposed with the passage structure extending to an outlet port in the upper surface, and structure in the upper surface defines a plurality of channels extending away from the outlet port of the passage structure for discharge of excess quantities of a liquid sample to be analyzed flowed through the passage structure.

  • Patent number: 5521698
Abstract: An analytical system for analyzing a liquid sample that includes structure defining an analysis region with an inlet and an outlet, a spectrometer system disposed in sensing relation to the analysis region, structure defining a sample inlet port, and structure connecting the sample inlet port to the inlet of the analysis region. The analysis region includes sample excitation apparatus with a pair of spaced metal electrodes, one of the electrodes having an upper surface in spaced juxtaposition to the other electrode and passage structure connected to the inlet of the analysis region, and the other electrode having a lower surface of annular configuration in spaced juxtaposition to the upper surface of the one electrode.

  • Patent number: 5061823
Abstract: A crush, kink, and torque resistant, flexible coaxial cable having a closely spaced, spiralled rigid metal wire layer between the outer conductor of the coaxial transmission line and the outer jacket of the cable. Small size light weight, good flexibility with minimum spring-back and excellent crush resistance are provided together with excellent kinking, and torque resistance. This eliminates the need for external ruggedization to protect the electrical properties of the cable.

  • Patent number: 4102431
Abstract: An emergency personnel lowering apparatus having a stowage bag including a lowering line stowed in a plurality of hanks within the bag. A lowering control mechanism and an attachment line are positioned within the bag adjacent the lowering line. A portion of the attachment line extends out of the bag and forms a pull loop. The lowering control mechanism includes an adjustable descent control mechanism which controls the area of contact between different portions of the lowering line to control the rate of descent. Plural paths are provided for the lowering line in the descent control mechanism to adapt the system for different loads. A brake mechanism is provided to stop descent if the person on the line becomes incapable of self protection on the ground.
