    Abstract: A battery system is described with methods and systems for thermally isolating a battery module experiencing thermal runaway. In one embodiment, a thermal actuator can cut a busbar coupling neighboring battery modules together, thereby preventing or slowing the spread of thermal runaway. In other embodiments, a fusible material can joint portions of a busbar. High temperatures can cause the fusible material to melt off of the busbar portions and thereby break the thermal or electrical conductivity between busbar portions and neighboring modules.

A third linkage is coupled to the master linkage and operable to transmit movements representative of blade position commands to a blade control system in response to the movements representative of pilot commands and the movements representative of augmentation commands.

The part failure repository is configured to store a plurality of failure records, each failure record identifying a failed aircraft part. The part history repository is configured to store a plurality of part records, each part record storing, for a failed aircraft part, at least one measurement of an aspect of a natural environment of which the failed aircraft part was subject to. The failure analysis engine is operable to compare the plurality of failure records to the plurality of part records and identify at least one potential environmental cause of failure for a plurality of failed aircraft parts based on the comparison.

    Abstract: The subject tiltrotor aircraft has three modes of operation: airplane mode, helicopter mode, and transition mode. A tilting mast, which transitions the aircraft between airplane mode and helicopter mode, is controlled by systems that allow selective movement of the rotor blades between the flight modes. A hub couples the rotor blades to the tilting mast such that torque and thrust are transferred, while allowing rotor thrust vector tilting. A main swash plate controls rotor thrust vector direction. Pitch horns are coupled to the rotor blades and the main swash plate via pitch links such that swash plate inputs are communicated to the rotor blades. The pitch links are coupled at “delta-3” values that are not optimum. A feedback swash plate and feedback links receive disk tilting inputs from the rotor blades, and supply inputs to the main swash plate, which compensates for the less than optimum delta-3 coupling.
