Abstract: An apparatus and a method for vacuum laminating an article to a substrate. The apparatus comprises a movable assembly engaged with a support surface for the substrate and movable relative thereto. The movable assembly comprises a manifold for receiving vacuum force from a source of vacuum, and a fin member for translating the vacuum force across substantially a width of the printing plate. A holder for the article is positioned such that an end of said article to be laminated is engageable with the support surface. A moving device is provided for passing the movable assembly and the article over the printing plate as the vacuum force is translated across the printing plate, such that the article is laminated to the printing plate without substantial air entrapment.

Abstract: An apparatus for producing images of various sizes on photosensitive film from either a photographic negative or positive which includes a photographic image having a predetermined size using a light source to expose the film to the image includes a first member having a stationary element and a movable element which includes a platform for supporting the photosensitive film in a fixed plane in positional relationship thereto, and a second member for retaining and positioning the photographic image in a fixed position with respect to the platform to expose a portion of the film to the light source to produce an image on the film having generally the same size as the photographic image. The movable element further includes a control arm attached to the platform and a resilient control linkage interconnecting the control arm and the stationary element to allow random movement of the platform in the plane relative to the photographic image.

Abstract: A rotatable fastener for holding a workpiece includes a plurality of arm members each pivotally coupled to at least two others of the arm members for scissoring movement, at least two grips situated at extremities of the arm members, and at least one tension spring coupled to the arm members for biasing the grips inwardly towards each other, thereby forcing the grips to engage the workpiece and hold same. The arm members are pivotally mounted to a rotating hub having drive posts for rotating the arm members and the grips include fingers extending angularly from a base portion thereof for receiving workpieces of various shapes, sizes, and thicknesses.
