  • Patent number: 7396495
Abstract: A method for producing a block having a flat bottom, a flat top which is parallel to the bottom and sidewalls which extend between the bottom and the top is disclosed. At least three cooperating mold parts are assembled on a first plate to produce assembled mold parts having interior surfaces which conform with the shape of the sidewalls of the block and flat, coplanar tops and bottoms. The assembled mold parts are clamped together, and a high slump concrete which is hardenable by hydration of cement therein is charged and worked as required into close proximity to the interiors of the mold parts and to the plate inside the mold parts. A foamable composition capable of forming a body of a thermoset, closed cell, urethane foam having a density of about 10 to 60 pounds per cubic foot which fills the interior of the assembled mold parts above the concrete therein is then charged, and a second plate is clamped over the tops of the mold parts.

  • Publication number: 20080127603
Abstract: A method for producing a foundation for a building is disclosed. The method comprises digging a trench having the shape and position required by the foundation for the building, pouring a hardenable concrete footer in the trench, assembling a slab jig on the footer, positioning the slab jig, if necessary, so that the upper surface of a concrete slab which subsequently fills the slab jig is substantially level, and filling the slab jig with a hardenable concrete. The slab is one having an open top, an open bottom, and sidewalls so shaped that the upper surface of a concrete slab which fills the slab jig is substantially flat and the slab has the shape required of the foundation for a particular building, In a preferred method, also disclosed, a course of cement blocks is laid on the footer, and the slab jig is assembled on the cement block course, positioned, if necessary, and filled.

  • Patent number: 6769220
Abstract: A Dyligomer is disclosed. The Dyligomer has the structure where B is a chemical moiety formed by reactions involving the NCO groups of a diisocyanate having the formulas OCN—B—NCO and the active hydrogens of OH groups of compounds having the formulas A—OH and D—OH, and A and D are chemical moieties formed by the reactions which formed B, and wherein A and D include, in their structures, at least two active hydrogens which are parts of OH groups and at least one ethylenic double bond. Also disclosed are polymerizable compositions comprising Dyligomers and their use to produce structural panels that are admirably suited for use as floors in refrigerated trucks and trailers, and in roofs, sidewalls and load bearing walls for homes and commercial buildings. Blocks which can be used to produce buildings are also disclosed, as is the use of Dyligomers to produce the blocks, and the use of the blocks to produce building structures.

  • Patent number: 6284841
Abstract: A Dyligomer is disclosed. The Dyligomer has the structure OCN—B—NCO and the active hydrogens of OH groups of compounds having the formulas A—OH and D—OH and A and D are chemical moieties formed by the reactions which formed B, and wherein A and D include, in their structures, at least two active hydrogens which are parts of OH groups and at least one ethylenic double bond. A preferred family of Dyligomers has the structure of Formula I, below: where R is an alkyl, hydroxy alkyl, dihydroxy alkyl, alkenyl, or hydroxy alkenyl group having from 2 to 6 carbons. Also disclosed are a method for producing a thermoset article which involves using the Dyligomer and a composition comprising a filler, a catalyst for the reaction of an isocyanate with an active hydrogen, an addition cross-linking material which has at least one ethylenic double bond in its molecule, a free radical addition polymerization catalyst, and the Dyligomer.

  • Patent number: 5170722
Abstract: A pallet assembly is disclosed that consists of two sets of interlocking runners. The first set of runners has at least one opening capable of receiving a plurality of second runners. The second runners have slots that mate with the upper and lower members of the first runner so as to secure the first and second runners in fixed relation with each other. Typically the second runner is brought in fixed relation with the first runner by rotation of the second member. Locating bosses serve to locate the position of the second set of runners and assist in their rotation into fixed relation with the first runners.
