    Abstract: A deflector shield fixed to the hood of a motor vehicle comprising a mounting bracket and a transparent panel upstanding from the bracket. The panel is recessed in its rear surface to provide visible enhancements. A light source mounted on the bracket emits light into the lower edge of the panel and the recessed surfaces deflect light out of the plane of the panel thereby illuminating the enhancements.
