  • Patent number: 5769208
Abstract: An apparatus used in combination with a motor operator and an overhead distribution gang switch. The motor operator is activatable for automatically opening and closing the gang switch. The locking assembly includes a coupler assembly that couples the motor operator with the gang switch. A clutch plate and operating handle connecting device is hinged to the coupler assembly for selectively connecting and disconnecting the motor operator with the gang switch, and for manually opening and closing the gang switch when the motor operator and the gang switch are disconnected. An assembly is provided for locking the coupler assembly in a coupled mode. A locking device is engageable with the connecting device when the motor operator and the gang switch are disconnected. The locking device locks the connecting device in a first position in which the gang switch is opened, and locks the connecting device in a second position in which the gang switch is closed.

  • Patent number: 4925332
Abstract: A single-plane T-connector for joining a pair of tap cables to a service bus cable includes a front clamp member having a shoulder which is connected to a compression ferrule for joining one of the tap cables. The connector also includes a rear clamp member with a shoulder which is connected to another compression ferrule for the other tap cable. Both clamp members have inner faces with arcuate regions which receive the service bus cable. The inner faces of each clamp member also have regions, on either side of the respective arcuate portion, which slope in different directions. The front clamp member has captured bolts which screw into the rear clamp member to connect the clamp members around the bus cable. The configuration of the inner faces of the clamp members permits the ferrules to lie in a plane which passes through the bus cable, thus avoiding wasted space in a manhole or building vault.

  • Patent number: 4314300
Abstract: A fused short circuit and grounding switch for interconnection in a main circuit, the switch having a switch member operable in one position thereof as a part of the main circuit and operable in another position out of and breaking the normal continuity of the main circuit therethrough and to provide a solid bolted fault, and including an alternate circuit interconnected to and operable to be in parallel with the main circuit, the alternate circuit being fused, the switch being operable to short circuit the alternate circuit and clear the fusing thereof and to thereby interrupt the main circuit on operation of the switch member to the position thereof providing a solid bolted fault.
