  • Patent number: 4438669
Abstract: Adjustable ratchet pliers having jaw members that can be easily and rapidly adjusted to accommodate different size workpieces and in which one jaw member includes a slide track with a sunken area located along an elongated slot and the other jaw member includes a slide member that carries a locking means. The slide member has a portion which slides within the sunken area to keep the locking means in the proper position to provide a smooth action of the plies during adjustment.

  • Patent number: 4269089
Abstract: A rapidly adjustable ratchet pliers having a first and second jaw member integral with a first and second handle member that pivotally cooperate to grasp a workpiece between the jaw members. The pliers also include a ratchet dog pivotally disposed in a slot of the first jaw member. The slot includes a surface defining tooth cavities and a smooth surface opposite thereof. The ratchet dog includes a biasing means that slidably and continuously contacts the smooth surface and a tooth normally biased into engagement with the tooth cavity surface. An abutment projects from a surface of the second jaw member into the slot whereby outward pivotal movement of the second handle member causes the abutment to contact a shelf of the ratchet dog and thereby release the dog from its biased engagement with the tooth cavity surface of the slot. Thereafter, the first jaw member may be adjusted relative to the second jaw member.

  • Patent number: 3967277
Abstract: A radio navigation system is disclosed which includes a first pair of fixed transmitting stations, a second pair of fixed transmitting stations and a mobile station. The mobile station includes a receiver having first means for deriving a first signal indicative of the difference in the distances between the mobile station and each of the first pair of fixed stations and second means for deriving a second signal indicative of the difference in the distances between the mobile station and each of the second pair of fixed stations. Summing means are provided for adding the first and second signals to obtain a third signal indicative of a first line of position on which the mobile station is located, and difference means are provided for subtracting one of the first and second signals from the other to obtain a fourth signal indicative of a second line of position on which the mobile station is located.
