  • Publication number: 20240081802
Abstract: Various methods and devices are provided for allowing multiple surgical instruments to be inserted into sealing elements of a single surgical access device. The sealing elements can be movable along predefined pathways within the device to allow surgical instruments inserted through the sealing elements to be moved laterally, rotationally, angularly, and vertically relative to a central longitudinal axis of the device for ease of manipulation within a patient's body while maintaining insufflation.

  • Patent number: 11925354
Abstract: A fastener cartridge can comprise a support portion, a tissue thickness compensator positioned relative to the support portion, and a plurality of fasteners positioned within the support portion and/or the tissue thickness compensator which can be utilized to fasten tissue. In use, the fastener cartridge can be positioned in a first jaw of a surgical fastening device, wherein a second jaw, or anvil, can be positioned opposite the first jaw. To deploy the fasteners, a staple-deploying member is advanced through the fastener cartridge to move the fasteners toward the anvil. As the fasteners are deployed, the fasteners can capture at least a portion of the tissue thickness compensator therein along with at least a portion of the tissue being fastened.

  • Patent number: 9797681
Abstract: An effector launch system includes a stowable effector launcher housing having a housing panel configured for coupling with a vehicle, and one or more receptacle brackets movably coupled with the housing panel. The one or more receptacle brackets include one or more effector launcher sockets. The launch system further includes one or more effector launchers. Each effector launcher includes an effector received within an adapter housing. The stowable effector launcher housing is movable between deployed and stowed configurations. In the deployed configuration the one or more receptacle brackets extend from the housing panel and the one or more effector launchers are received within the one or more effector launcher sockets. In the stowed configuration the one or more effector launchers are removed from the one or more effector launcher sockets and the one or more receptacle brackets are stowed along the housing panel.

  • Publication number: 20040216274
Abstract: A releasable hinge clamp can provide multiple functions including clamping a first releasable member adjacent a second member, holding the releasable member in a secondary position away from the second member such that generally unobstructed access to the second member is enabled, and enabling full separation of the adjacently held members. The releasable hinge clamp can have a first end rotatably attachable to the first member, a second end releasably attachable to the second member, such as by slidably capturing a cooperating portion of the second member in a slot in the second end which defines a plurality of positions whereat said second member is clamped against the first member, held at the secondary position, or positioned to be separated from the first member via an opening provided in the slot.
