  • Patent number: 9114909
Abstract: A storage container according to the present invention includes a base and a lid hingedly coupled to one another to enable rotation of the lid between a closed position in which the lid is disposed parallel with a bottom wall of the base and an open position in which the lid is rotated with respect to the base between 110 and 230 degrees. A number of hinge assemblies are provided between the base and the lid for rotation of the lid thereabout. The hinge assemblies include a base engaging assembly and a lid engaging assembly for coupling between the base and the lid respectively. The lid engaging assembly includes a receiver configured to engage a pin of the lid for hinged rotation of the lid thereabout. The receiver is configured to enable the lid to break away from the lid as desired or under impact from an external force.

  • Patent number: 8844950
Abstract: A storage tote includes a base and a selectively movable lid. A support assembly is secured to the base and movable between a folded position and a deployed position. In the folded position, the support assembly extends generally parallel to the surface upon which it is supported. In the deployed position, the support assembly extends generally downwardly to support the base at a height substantially above the support surface. The support assembly may include a pair of opposing legs. The support assembly may additionally include a one or more pairs of wheels for selective movement of the storage tote from one location to another. A leg retention assembly may be provided for securing the legs in the folded position to prevent accidental or otherwise unwanted movement of the legs from the folded position.

  • Publication number: 20070289095
Abstract: A hinge assembly for use in attaching, for example, a lid or a door is disclosed. The hinge assembly is economical to make and can stand up to a great deal of abuse. It easily assembled by an end user without the need for hand tools or traditional metal fasteners. The design of the hinge permits rotation of up to 270°. A method of using the hinge assembly to quickly and easily make a hinged connection with a door or lid of, for example, a storage system incorporating the hinge assembly is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6017043
Abstract: A toboggan (10) includes a front section (30) that is selectively connectable to a rear section (32) by a connector (34). The connector (34) includes a plurality of laterally spaced and vertically offset tenons (70) that are carried by the front section (30) and a plurality of corresponding mortises (72) that are carried by rear section (32). A pair of bolts (80) removably extend through sections (30, 32). The forward portion of front section (30) is selectively configurable into a forward curved portion (12). Forward curved portion (12) is held in a curved configuration by a rope (36) that extends about the perimeter of toboggan (10), through a plurality of channels (50). Each end (52, 54) of the rope (36) has a knot (56, 58) that is selectively retained by a slotted knot retainer (60) carried by the front section (30). When the rope (36) is disconnected from the knot retainers (60), the front section (30) returns to its normal flat configuration.

  • Patent number: 5906291
Abstract: A container (20) includes a base portion (21) having a bottom surface (23), front (24) and rear (25) walls extending upwardly from the bottom surface (23), and opposed side walls (26) extending upwardly from the bottom surface (23) and, together with the front (24) and rear (25) walls, defining an open top. A cover (22) is provided to close the open top and may be selectively attached to the rear wall (25) by hinge assemblies (50) and to the front wall (24) by a latch mechanism (60). A side handle (85) is positioned in a recess (81) formed in each side wall (26) and may be pivoted from a position in the recesses (81) to the carrying position outside the recesses (81). Alternatively, a side handle assembly (101) is positioned in a recess (112) formed in a side wall (107) and wheels (111) can be located adjacent to the other side wall (108). The handle assembly (101) may be pivoted outside the recess (112) and its handle member (115) telescoped relative to the handle assembly (101) to extend the length thereof.

  • Patent number: 5398952
Abstract: A carrier is provided for transporting a carnival ride track and carnival vehicle, without the necessity of dismantling and removing the vehicle from the track during transportation. In the use of the carrier, a carnival vehicle, such as a toy train, remains elevated during highway transportation of the carrier. A section of amusement ride track, is incorporated into a trestle portion. When in use, the carrier lowers the track to the ground so that the carnival vehicle, such as a toy train for carrying passengers, can move about a designated track configuration, such as a "figure eight" track design. The carrier includes a retractable suspension system designed to lower the trailer holding the track completely to the ground level, and to raise it for travel over the road.
