  • Patent number: 8082405
Abstract: In an enhanced dynamic address translation facility a virtual address to be translated and an initial origin address of a translation table of the hierarchy of translation tables are used to access a segment table entry containing a format control field and an access validity field. If the format control field is enabled, the segment table entry further contains an access control field and a fetch protection field and a segment-frame absolute address. Fetch operations from the desired block of data are permitted if the program access key associated with the virtual address is equal to the segment access control field.

  • Publication number: 20090182974
Abstract: What is provided is an enhanced dynamic address translation facility. In one embodiment, a virtual address to be translated and an initial origin address of a translation table of the hierarchy of translation tables are obtained. Based on the origin address, a segment table entry is obtained which contains a format control field and an access validity field. If the format control and access validity are enabled, the segment table entry further contains an access control and fetch protection fields, and a segment-frame absolute address. Store operations to the block of data are permitted only if the access control field matches a program access key provided by either a Program Status Word or an operand of a program instruction being executed. Fetch operations from the desired block of data are permitted only if the program access key associated with the virtual address is equal to the segment access control field.

  • Patent number: 6296501
Abstract: An electric-cable-grounding piercer has a piercer blade (1) with a trunk end attached to a double-acting hydraulic piston (2) in a double-acting hydraulic cylinder (3) from which a blade housing (4) is extended from a blade end. An insertion-pressure tube (7) is positional in fluid communication intermediate an insertion-pressure end of the double-acting hydraulic cylinder and a pump-outlet conveyance (36) from a hydraulic pump (9). A withdrawal-pressure tube (10) is positional in fluid communication intermediate a withdrawal-pressure end of the double-acting hydraulic cylinder and the outlet conveyance from the hydraulic pump. The hydraulic pump has a control valve (35) for directing pressurized hydraulic fluid to the insertion-pressure end and to the withdrawal-pressure end of the double-acting hydraulic cylinder selectively.

  • Patent number: 4441102
Abstract: A flow sensing apparatus for providing an indication of the presence of an exiting flow stream from a coal processing plant cyclone includes a probe member disposed in the edge of the flow stream, an electronic sensing circuit cooperatively arranged with the probe member in order to provide either a high or a low level signal, depending upon whether the probe member is being contacted by the exiting flow stream or whether such contact is not being made. A display light is cooperatively arranged with the sensing circuit so as to flicker on and off as the exiting flow stream intermittently and irregularly contacts the probe member. The flickering of the display light indicating proper outlet flow from the coal processing plant cyclone while a constantly on condition of the light indicates that flow is not occurring.
