    Abstract: An electronics module coaxial connection assembly comprises a plurality of coaxial connectors (10) mounted in a die cast housing (4) that receives printed circuit boards (PCBs) (6,8) therein. The PCBs are interconnected and mounted within the housing (4) of compliant pins that allow assembly in the axial direction (A). Contacts (51,50) mounted along the edge (60) of the PCB (6) have fork-shaped contact arms (56) that plug onto the coaxial centre conductors (32) that project into the cavity area (34) of the housing. This enables connection of the PCB to the coaxial conductors by merely plugging the PCBs into the housing in the axial direction during assembly. Cost-effective manufacture of components and assembly is thus provided.

    Abstract: A U-shaped terminal having a pair of plate-like legs joined together at one end thereof by a transverse section. A wire insertion slot is formed across said transverse section and extends down into said legs. The slot is relatively wide across the transverse section and as it enters said legs becomes narrower than the wire to be inserted therein, and causes some ovalization of the wire. An abrupt change in slot width occurs by means of shoulders formed in the slot walls in the legs, and below which the slot width is smaller still, at least in one leg, than the ovallizing dimension of the slot above the shoulders. The shoulders bite into and strip away insulation as the conductor is forced thereby, leaving the bare metal of the wire in contact with the slot edges as the wire is forced farther therein.

    Abstract: A serrated wire securing member for use such as a terminal or splice for making connection to at least one wire includes a plurality of side-by-side ridges along an axis perpendicular to the axis of a piece of metal crimped about and encircling the wire. The ridges have floors in the interspaces therebetween of progressively decreasing depth from one end thereof, and have trapezoidal walls, the walls facing in one direction being of essentially one angle, and the walls facing in the other direction being of progressively increasing angle. The varying floor depth and wall angles together and individually promote the flow of the wire conductor material into more uniform contact with the terminal material to form better physical and electrical connection therebetween.

    Abstract: Connecting device, which may be used for the spring member of a flexible hose, comprises a web having parallel sidewalls extending therefrom. Wire-receiving slot means extend inwardly from the free edges of the sidewalls and contact portion extends forwardly from the web so that when a wire spring in a flexible hose is inserted into the slot, the connecting device will extend from the end of the hose and parallel to the axis thereof. The wire-receiving slot means has features which make it particularly suitable for spring steel wires.

    Abstract: A terminal for connecting a fine magnet wire to a larger wire with relatively thick insulation. The terminal has a barrel at one end section thereof with serrations extending substantially circumferentially around the inner surface thereof. At the other end of said terminal there is a second barrel with tangs extending inwardly therein. The fine magnet wire is laid within the end of the barrel containing the serrations. The large wire with the heavy insulation is laid within both sections of said barrel including the portion containing the tangs and the portion containing the serrations. Crimping of both barrels in the terminal causes the heavy insulation on the large wire to force the magnet wire into the barrel serrations, thereby elongating the magnet wire and breaking the shellac or fine plastic insulation thereon so that the magnet wire makes electrical contact with the barrel.
